Chapter 395 - Chapter 395 Editor

Blaziken fulfilled its role as translator at the perfect moment.

"It says it once encountered Ho-Oh. And it's because of Ho-Oh that it became this strong."

Silas sighed internally.

Ho-Oh truly was an old-world wanderer.

Among Legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh is arguably the one most frequently sighted by humans.

Unlike many other Legendary Pokémon that remain hidden in their domains for decades or even centuries, Ho-Oh is unusually active.

Every region and city in Johto has some legend connected to it.

That alone speaks volumes.

Because of this, far more people pursue Ho-Oh than any other Legendary Pokémon.

Even so, the number of humans or Pokémon who possess a Rainbow Wing can still be counted on one hand.

According to legend, Ho-Oh only grants the Rainbow Wing to those of righteous character.

Silas believed Ho-Oh had excellent judgment.

"Roar."

After a few low growls toward Silas, the Charizard leader turned and strode toward the Magma Stone.

Blaziken translated:

"It says the Magma Stone is also very beneficial to its own strength, so it can't give all of it to us. But it can separate a portion."

Even through Aura, Blaziken's mood lifted slightly.

Silas watched curiously.

Magma Stones form deep within volcanoes. Not only do they contain immense Fire-type energy, the extreme pressure grants them extraordinary hardness.

After all, Heatran is a Fire- and Steel-type Legendary Pokémon.

The Charizard leader calmly picked up the Magma Stone, then folded its wings and dove straight into the crater.

Splash.

The sound echoed upward.

Silas stepped forward instinctively.

The Charizard leader had vanished into the lava. He didn't think it was running off with the stone.

It was clearly fulfilling its promise.

Still—

The sight was overwhelming.

Even knowing it was capable, Seeing it submerge into magma was dizzying.

The temperature inside, intensified by the Magma Stone's formation, had to exceed a thousand degrees Celsius.

Human bone reduces to ash at roughly 900°C.

If a person fell into lava, they would be completely incinerated.

Only truly powerful Pokémon could treat this as trivial. Before long the leader rose from the magma, white-hot molten rock flowing off its body.

It held two Magma Stones in its claws.

One large.

One smaller.

Silas estimated the smaller one to be roughly a quarter of the original size.

More than enough for Blaziken to use for a long time. But given the intense heat radiating from the Charizard leader.

Silas had no intention of approaching.

Even dozens of meters away, he could feel the scorching air.

"Blaziken. It's yours."

Silas waved a hand.

After all, he wasn't the one who needed it.

He had no desire to test his physical limits.

Blaziken stepped forward eagerly.

As a Pesudo-Elite Fire-type Pokémon, the temperature was merely uncomfortable—not dangerous.

The Charizard leader nodded and handed over the smaller Magma Stone.

Blaziken accepted it.

Its face lit up with joy as it felt the violent Fire-type energy inside.

"In that case, we won't disturb you further. Until next time."

With the issue resolved and the item secured, Silas bid farewell.

Mostly, Because he was about to collapse from the heat.

Liza agreed.

Her instruments showed that with the Magma Stone removed, the lava's temperature and activity were steadily decreasing.

The threat of eruption would soon pass.

On the way back, Blaziken kept turning the small Magma Stone over in its claws.

Silas had tested it.

It functioned like a special held item and could be stored within Blaziken's Poké Ball.

"Still early. Stay for lunch," Liza said cheerfully. "I'll cook myself as thanks."

Silas agreed readily.

Though the crisis was resolved quickly, it was already past 1 PM.

His stomach growled loudly.

Blaziken and the others had expended even more energy.

Charizard Valley was safe, No need to search for a campsite.

Back at the small cabin near the valley entrance, Liza showcased impressive culinary skills.

Having lived alone in Charizard Valley for five or six years, her cooking rivaled Silas'.

With so many Charizard, each with different tastes. She had put enormous effort into mastering Pokémon cuisine.

Blaziken enjoyed the meal the most.

It had contributed the most effort. And Charizard-style Fire-type food suited its palate perfectly.

Silas' cooking was excellent, But variety was welcome.

"Alolan Vulpix is just too adorable!" Liza exclaimed.

She picked it up and rubbed her cheek against its soft fur.

Alolan Vulpix wore a long-suffering expression, But considering the specially prepared meal, It tolerated the affection.

"Togekiss is amazing too! So white and fluffy—just like Snorlax~"

She leaned against Togekiss.

"Roar!"

Her own Charizard, nicknamed Charla, nudged Togekiss aside and patted its own body proudly.

It was comfortable too!

Liza burst into laughter.

Togekiss glanced at the Charizard mid-bite.

Fine. Not worth arguing.

It pressed a small paw onto a green vine.

Serperior, who had been attempting to sneak extra food with Vine Whip, sighed.

Why couldn't the Charizard have distracted them longer?

Useless.

It withdrew another vine from Ampharos' bowl, the tip holding a yellow Pokéblock.

Toss.

"Ser—!"

A jolt of electric spice tingled through it.

Serperior narrowed its eyes in bliss.

Silas walked over and tapped its head.

"How many times have I told you not to eat Pokéblocks that don't match your type?"

Next time, he'd make an extremely spicy block using Tamato Berries.

Let's see if you keep stealing then.

He smirked internally.

Meanwhile, Liza remained immersed in admiration of Silas' diverse team.

Living in Charizard Valley, she rarely encountered different Pokémon.

In a way, Her life was rather isolated.

"Don't you ever get bored?" Silas asked.

She looked surprised.

"Sometimes. But these kids cause trouble often enough to keep me busy. Most days are full."

She patted her Charizard's belly.

"And Charla's always with me."

Silas could tell, She genuinely loved this life.

Though cheerful and outgoing on the surface. Deep down, she was a tranquil soul.

The opposite of Silas, Who thrived on travel and adventure.

He didn't fully understand it. But he respected it.

For the Charizard clan, having her as administrator was a blessing.

After resting, Silas departed Charizard Valley.

He glanced back at the towering rock walls.

Liza and her Charizard were waving farewell.

He waved back.

Next time they met, Blaziken would need to be at Elite–peak level.

That was their agreement.

At that stage, Blaziken would require constant high-level battles to refine itself.

Charizard Valley would be the ideal training ground. But that was far in the future.

Who knew what would happen before then?

Watching Silas grow smaller in the distance, Liza lowered her arm.

"Come on, Charla. Time to file the report and resume patrol!"

"Roar!"

The summer sun was particularly fierce in the afternoon.

Walking along the forest path, Silas felt the air growing increasingly muggy.

"Kanto really is better," he sighed.

Compared to Kanto, Johto has many inland rivers, making it more humid overall.

In summer, especially inside dense forests, that was not good news.

Most importantly, In such oppressive heat, even Pokémon were far less active.

Along the way, Silas and Karrablast had barely encountered any wild Pokémon.

He had hoped to let Karrablast gain some battle experience.

"Rustle—"

A loud disturbance came from nearby bushes.

Silas raised an eyebrow.

"Karrablast, prepare for battle!"

"Karrablast!"

Karrablast dashed forward energetically.

Under their watchful eyes, a burly man burst out of the bushes.

"Where the heck is this place? Everything looks the same!"

He looked up. And locked eyes with Silas.

Both were stunned.

Silas gestured for Karrablast to return.

"Nobuhiko[Kiyo]? What are you doing here? Aren't you managing the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City?"

"Ahahaha…"

Kiyo scratched his head, clearly not expecting to run into Silas.

The muscular man emerging from the bushes was none other than Silas' martial arts junior—Chuck's disciple, the Black Belt Kiyo.

It had been nearly a year since they last met.

From their occasional chats, Silas thought Kiyo was still helping manage the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City.

Kiyo explained:

"After you left, I took on some students. They've trained for about a year now and have decent foundations.

"There aren't many challengers at the dojo anyway, so I decided to come out and train myself."

He grimaced.

Teaching students was exhausting.

Too smart was troublesome.

Too slow was worse.

Training alone was simpler.

Silas nodded.

"So… you got lost?"

He had clearly heard Kiyo's muttering earlier.

Kiyo's face reddened.

"No! I was just… temporarily directionally challenged while searching for a Pokémon."

He absolutely refused to admit he had a terrible sense of direction.

Hitmontop, who had just mocked him for it, had already been recalled.

Surely he could find his way out himself.

Silas decided to play along.

"Right. So what Pokémon are you looking for? I can help."

They stared at each other.

"Ha!"

One of them laughed first.

They stepped forward and shared a brief hug.

With Silas leading the way, Kiyo finally returned to the correct path.

He also explained why he had come to Johto.

"Mt. Mortar has varied terrain. It's perfect for training Fighting-type Pokémon. The environment also helps me clear my mind. Master Chuck always recommended I visit."

That was one reason.

The second,Kiyo shrugged.

"Do you remember the Kenzo school?"

Silas blinked.

"Vaguely. Didn't you say they had no successor?"

He remembered Kiyo mentioning them once, though he never fully understood what the school was about.

Apparently, there was some rivalry.

Kiyo confirmed it.

"Simply put, we emphasize physical strength. They emphasize technique. That led to an irreconcilable conflict."

Silas grimaced.

Straightforward enough.

Like two martial sects arguing over internal energy versus sword technique.

Except their schools weren't originally the same—just from the same region.

"They hadn't contacted us for a long time," Kiyo continued.

"But recently, the head Kenzo sent Master Chuck a message.

"I don't know what it said, but Master sounded furious.

"As his disciple, it's only right that I pay them a visit."

He said it with a smile, But the pressure behind it was palpable.

Though technically Silas' martial junior, Kiyo was far stronger.

As a specialist in Fighting-type Pokémon, he was only one step away from official Elite-Level trainer recognition—

He currently had five Elite-level main Pokémon.

He needed just one more.

And Chuck's strength far surpassed even that.

Silas couldn't imagine—

What kind of confidence the "successor-less" Kenzo had to provoke them.
