"So he takes care of you, huh?" Sonny asked with a small smirk. He closed the distance between us and stood right in front of me. The moonlight behind him made his face clearer in the dark.
"Y-yes…!" I answered, stammering even though I tried to keep my voice serious.
"And how exactly does he do that?" Sonny asked, leaning a little closer. I could see the line of his collarbone under his open shirt and smell the strong scent of his perfume mixed with the leftover cigarette smoke.
"What do you mean? He's the breadwinner of the family. He's the one who's always there for me and always comes to me for everything," I said firmly. Those words were true more than anything else.
Sonny didn't move back. "But can he satisfy you in the way I did?" he asked, closing the space even more. His hand rose and gently touched my hair, brushing it back and tucking it behind my ear.
I gulped. The situation felt confusing and heavy on my chest. My heart started beating faster.
