Long, soft, very much rabbit. They twitched wildly, confused by the new balance of her body, but they did not vanish.
A pair of slender antennae sprouted from her head, just behind her bangs, unfurling in a trembling arc before steadying, tasting the hall in quick, startled sweeps.
The gold light dimmed, then went out, leaving her panting in the chair, half-wrapped in the tatters of her old clothes and a skin that was no longer entirely skin.
No one spoke.
For a few heartbeats, the only sound in the hall was Luna's breathing and the distant drip of water in some forgotten corner.
Then Vexor whispered, reverent, "By all the old nests."
Luna looked down.
Her eyes widened.
"Oh," she said faintly. She lifted a hand and ran her fingers over the nearest plate on her thigh. The surface was smooth, warm, and very much attached to her. "Oh, no."
Her gaze shot to her abdomen, then to Kai, panic starting to push past shock.
