Cherreads

Chapter 170 - CHAPTER 110

After Marcus finished reading, Jericho and the five little snakes were holding back their laughter. He stuttered when he read a written record. He was not familiar with the law.

Moriarty needs a new assistant, preferably a professional broadcaster.

Fortunately, Marcus's voice is not so bad. After going through so many incidents with Moriarty, his tone has become more confident.

So Moriarty still got all the information from him.

"So, the gold card is the Quidditch Laws and Regulations, the grey card is the International Confederation of Wizarding Secrecy Act, the white card is the Twenty-Five Laws of Intercourse with Muggles, the green card is the Prohibition of Animal Breeding Experiment Order, the blue card is the Muggle Protection Act, the black card is the Ministry of Magic Order, the red card is the Caning Approval Order, the yellow card is the International Dueling Prohibition Act, the brown card is the Prohibited Items Act, the purple is the Wizengamot Charter of Rights, the orange is the Wand Ordinance, and the pink is the Education Order."

Every time he read a law, Moriarty's mind conjured up the relevant documents, and he finally concluded: "There are a total of 12 laws, covering education, sports, daily life, and interactions with Muggles."

Muggles.

Moriarty closed his eyes. Lilith was likely to stand on the opposite side of Muggles.

The scene of the first meeting with Lilith appeared in front of Moriarty's mind.

On the Hogwarts Express, the girl told him her dream—the supremacy of wizards—with confidence and anticipation.

After a year of dormancy, the girl finally began to act on her dream through the death of Lucius and the accusations that followed.

As the movement begins, Moriarty also sees new opportunities—there is no doubt about it.

"Let's go. To the auditorium." Moriarty put down his work, stood up, and walked toward the dormitory door, followed by the seven little snakes.

On the other side, Lilith's speech had also reached a critical point. She pointed her wand at the twelve cards and let them float into the air, circling above the heads of the young witches and wizards.

"We are conducting a legal popularization activity and hope that everyone will increase their legal awareness. When our wizards are threatened, and when our Ministry of Magic is accused unjustly, we must stand up and use the weapon of law to defend our international status and rights!"

Lilith's voice, enhanced by the Sonorus Charm, echoed throughout the entire castle.

The young witches and wizards who had received jammed paper—from classrooms, Quidditch practice, the library—rushed in, even alarming the professors.

Lilith continued: "Do you know why the British Ministry of Magic hasn't responded to the French Ministry's accusations?

Because the current Minister will retire in six months! She doesn't want her final year marred by scandal—but what is scandalous?

Is it fighting for our wizards? Enhancing our international standing? Are those things stains on a career?

No—the real stain is cowardice, incompetence, and the inability of our domestic wizards to stand proud before foreign ministries!"

She was not one to stop halfway. With fierce momentum, she publicly disclosed the political reality of the Minister of Magic.

The crowd was in an uproar. Politics was a dirty game—and they weren't even supposed to be players.

Leon secretly clicked his tongue. If Lilith wasn't from the Piliwick family, the Minister's last act might have been to send Aurors to interrogate her on charges of inciting rebellion.

Lilith exhaled softly. Not every child from a ruling or pure-blood family dared to speak up. It took courage to say what she just said.

Percy and Gemma walked up beside her, gave her a look of support, and Lilith smiled. She stepped forward and declared more loudly than before, "Ladies and gentlemen, I've devised a fun legal game for you!

Collect twelve colored legal cards, wave your wand, and recite our slogan to receive a proposal letter!"

Percy summoned the floating cards to himself, tapped them with his wand, and shouted: "Law and justice!"

The twelve cards folded and stacked themselves as if compressed by invisible hands, becoming a neat A4-sized proposal.

"For the interest of British wizards and the honor of the British Ministry of Magic, I propose that young witches and wizards at Hogwarts write to the Ministry, urging them to formally protest the actions of the French Ministry of Magic!"

Percy's cheeks flushed as he read the document, but his voice rang out clearly, triggering a frenzy.

"I agree! Those baseless French accusations deserve a response!"

"The Minister is only protecting her career. Surely there are officials with backbone? Let's write to every one of them!"

"Send a letter to Rufus Scrimgeour! He's the Head of the Auror Office—he won't back down!"

"I'm graduating next year—I'll join the Aurors! If they need me to use the Unforgivable Curses against the French, I will!"

Those impassioned statements stirred the crowd.

Most were teenagers, prone to idealism and zeal. They still remembered the pride they felt last year when Moriarty led a pure-blood student delegation to France.

Now, Lilith had stepped into the spotlight, and many senior students were eager to ride the momentum of the Piliwick family to build their own reputations.

But more than anything, it was the ancient animosity between England and France that fueled the energy—an animosity that now extended into the magical realm.

Everyone agreed: Fengwei Capet was in the wrong. Bagno was weak and ineffective. The responsibility of restoring Britain's glory had fallen to Hogwarts.

A strong sense of duty and purpose surged through the students. They eagerly gathered colored cards and passionately chanted, "Law and justice!"

Gemma stood and declared the final step: "Let's sign! I believe future Great Britain will thank us for these names!"

"Exactly," Lilith said with a smile. "If the Ministry won't protest, let us speak for them!"

"Oh oh oh~!" the crowd chanted in unison.

Tonks, Leon, Charlie, and other pure-blood students exchanged glances—was this really helping? Or were they pushing the British and French Ministries into open conflict?

But the crowd's fervor was too strong to contain. Even Gryffindor and Hufflepuff prefects rushed forward to sign the proposal.

At that moment, a phoenix soared down and circled around Lilith. Her expression changed: "Fawkes?"

The next moment, Dumbledore's calm but commanding voice echoed through the hall.

"Children, may I make a small request?"

All eyes turned toward the speaker. Lilith had a sinking feeling. From the staircase on the first floor, Dumbledore descended quickly into the hall, followed by a retinue of professors.

Snape's face was as dark as ink. His glare bored into Lilith, who ignored it as best she could.

Dumbledore stepped into the center, picked up a proposal letter, lowered his glasses, and studied it carefully.

He seemed to ponder the words as though swept away by them.

Lilith noticed a ripple in Dumbledore's calm blue eyes. After half a minute, the Headmaster smiled and said, "Very well written, truly! Concise, direct. For this proposal, I award—"

He turned to Lilith and her companions. "40 points to Slytherin House! And 20 points to Gryffindor House!"

The gemstone hourglasses shifted. Rubies and emeralds dropped in, raising Gryffindor and Slytherin's scores noticeably. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff trailed behind.

But few paid attention to house points now. Everyone's focus was fixed on Dumbledore.

"Well… points awarded Now, let us discuss this."

Dumbledore gently tapped the paper with his finger, his expression thoughtful.

"I have never allowed students to engage in political activity during school hours!" Dumbledore's voice sharpened as he surveyed the crowd—staring down the white-robed student leaders, Percy, Gemma, and finally Lilith.

A tremendous aura locked onto Lilith like a private storm. No one else noticed, but she felt the crushing pressure and instinctively summoned her magic to resist.

Dumbledore chuckled. The last student to try that was Moriarty—and he had succeeded. Lilith, however, was no Moriarty.

"Miss Piliwick," Dumbledore said, still amused, "I appreciate your efforts in promoting legal awareness. But I disapprove of your methods. Hogwarts is a school. Please keep that in mind."

His tone softened, but his actions did not.

"I must deduct 60 points from Slytherin and 40 from Gryffindor. Miss Piliwick, Miss Farley, Mr. Weasley—you'll need to earn those points back."

Though his voice was pleasant, he waved his hand swiftly. The hundreds of proposal letters scattered through the crowd transformed into glowing flowers and faded into nothingness.
