It was Matthew's voice that brought them back from their little world and returned their attention to Matthew. Matthew stood in his place, calm, confident, and dangerous with a smile that promised death, like he fucking owned not just the world but even them.
All of their gazes hardened, and their expression turned unreadable and calm, as if they weren't shaken at all. However, inside, their minds were already working to find a way out of it and regain control of the situation, as they didn't have time.
Fifteen minutes had passed. One hour had left. Only an hour.
"You were not supposed to do that." Matthew tilted his head; something unsettling flashed into his eyes. "You should have followed my order and not try to play king. Did you think you could come to my territory and kill me then go? Nice dream. But a piece will always be a piece."
