Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"Right now."

The Father panics at my words. "My Lord, I must pack up my things before we go! I don't wish to come empty-handed."

I watch as he scrambles away from us, going into and turning in a hallway, away from my sight.

"As for you, Zynch," I turn to him, "do you wish to take anything with you?"

"No, I don't have anything left behind in this city and not on this damn planet." A flicker of sadness passes through his eyes for a moment before it disappears just as fast.

This is purely speculation, but I'm guessing his family died in the big global war they had. I decide not to ask more about it, seeing as it is a touchy subject.

The sound of feet once again fills the main chamber of the church as the Father runs back to us with a sack slung over his shoulder.

"Lord," he says panting, "I'm ready to go."

"Perfect. Then it's time for us to leave this planet," I say.

I didn't exactly know how to get to this "new world", much less how I would get transported there. Taking everyone in the vicinity at once didn't seem exactly the best option if I wanted people to travel freely between the worlds I go to.

Just like last time, I try to imagine what I wanted to happen. Opening a portal leading to this world.

I felt the energy that I have now aptly named "Fear Energy" start to rise. It wasn't the same sensation as before when I created my first creature. This feels assisted. Like another presence is guiding my energy.

Energy circulates in my body in a pattern I don't understand. Every fiber of my being was trying to wring out as much energy as it could.

I could feel my energy flow out of me steadily, now intangible, focused on a single point in the middle of the church.

The drain intensified. It didn't feel painful, but like it was emptying all my power.

A small portal opens, rays of white light passing through, much to the shock of us all.

I could feel my energy use more power, demand more, as it forced the light to stay open and get wider.

Now, the portal slowly widened and poured rays from the other side onto the carpet.

Its size was now enough to let me pass through comfortably.

My whole body screamed at me to go through before it closed.

The portal is barely held open by my energy, and with every second, it fights to close back up.

At this rate, I would only be able to hold on for another 30 seconds before I was completely out of fear energy.

The effects of being out of energy were something I didn't feel like finding out.

"Let's go," I say promptly as I begin walking to the white portal.

Both Zynch and the Father follow close behind me, both entranced and terrified of the sight.

I brace myself as I walk through the portal, hoping I don't go through the same experience I had when I accepted to come to Ulmuna.

***************

The sound of birds chirping and the branches of trees swaying in the wind were all that filled the forest.

CRACK.

A small dot—about the size of a bird—appeared, sucking up all surrounding light. The dot rapidly expands with the sound of tearing fabric.

The dot, now a white portal, its size grown to over 2 meters, humming with an energy foreign to the environment around it.

Birds erupt from nearby trees. Small animals and critters scurry in the opposite direction of the portal.

The forest now eerily silent.

A large clawed foot stepped through the portal with a heavy thud.

A figure emerged from the other side of the portal, being almost as tall as the portal, with two smaller figures, tiny in comparison, coming out as well.

"My lord, where are we?" the Father asked Thorn, his grip on the sack tightening.

The portal closed as soon as Zynch had stepped out, an end to the disturbing presence the portal had brought to the forest.

All of them looked around, taking in the endless view of trees.

"Are we on Nearth?" Zynch asked.

The sight of trees wasn't unfamiliar the Yalta. Being a species almost on the verge of space travel, they had been able to observe the surface of their neighboring planet long ago.

Parts of the planet looked just like this.

"Nearth?" Thorn repeats, looking down towards Zynch.

"The planet that Ulmuna orbits," Zynch clarifies.

"No," Thorn says as he steps forward. "Not Nearth, even I'm not sure where we are."

Thorn tensed his wings slightly before doing a powerful flap to take off into the air, leaving both Zynch and the Father on the ground. Dirt kicked up off the ground from the force.

'Then where the hell are we?' Both of them wondered.

Thorn POV

I know Metus said that we'd be on a planet that belonged to the multiverses she rules in but what even were those worlds?

I should've asked if there were any type of fictional universes from my Earth.

A question to ask her when—if—we ever meet again.

Thankfully, flying came as naturally as breathing, so no crashing into the forest during my first attempt at flight.

Many of the new additions in felt oddly f Like picking back up an old game you used to play and getting the controls in minutes.

Anyway, as I'm up in the air above the trees, I see nothing but forest stretching in every direction.

It's a bit unsettling to see nature all around as someone who grew up poor in New York.

I know that if I came here when I was a human, I'd probably be smelling the dirt and hugging trees to feel more connected to nature compared to the concrete jungle I lived in.

I landed back down on the ground with a thud on the dirt.

There was even a cool little shockwave I made when I landed on the ground, cool! Though I don't think Zynch and Father liked it that much, from all the dirt coming their way.

"There is nothing but trees as far as I can see," I say to them.

"How should we proceed, sir?" asks Zynch.

"We scout," I reply. "I'll carry you both and fly low. We need to find a settlement."

They both grunt in agreement as I scoop them up. I once again take off, gliding right above the trees.

I fly slowly, making sure that they won't escape from my arms.

Making sure that they won't fall out, I speed up.

If I were to make a guess, I would say we're cruising at around 250 km/h. If I really tried, I could definitely hit 750 km/h.

I think now is the time to collect my thoughts while we're searching for someone, or something.

Now that we're in a new world, I'm wondering about their power system. Considering that Metus said that I'd go to a world that are slightly stronger than me. Which is to say... what did she mean by stronger than me?

Was she talking about the people in the world themselves or the world itself, which is confusing in itself?

I don't think that I would be any weaker than anyone else on Earth; I would even say that I easily outclass the strongest and fastest there. So maybe I was sent to a world with a power system, like magic from those isekai stories.

Please, not a generic isekai story. I don't want to die to a stupidly OP main character with 10 busty elf wives and 5 loli slaves. Just thinking about it gives me shivers.

The wind swooshes past my face as I catch a smell that seems unnatural in this forest. For all the time I've been flying, the animals I pass smell like shit, to put it in simple terms. They smell like nature itself.

This smells artificial. The heavy smell of chemicals that seems too fragrant to be in the woods. A perfume.

I instantly descend, to the surprise of the two in my arms.

"My Lord?!" "Sir?!"

"Silence," I hushed them. "There are people nearby."

I cautiously glide towards the scent, making sure that I don't touch the ground in fear that I snap a branch and make them scurry away.

My advance is cut short when I hear the sound of voices.

I most definitely have advanced hearing. I could never hear people from this far as a human.

A female voice starts talking, "Hiro-san! Please, just believe me! I didn't hurt Kuro-san!"

Her voice cracked, sounding like she was on the verge of tears.

This time, a masculine voice starts talking, "How long are you going to keep saying that!? We all know you are the only one who hates her enough to actually do something like that to her."

I hear the sound of leaves crunching and twigs snapping as they slowly approach us.

What a lovely time for me to find someone, and they are already arguing like the two Yaltas in my arms.

Speaking of which, they're both staring at me. Waiting for me to say or do something.

I set them down and say, "Wait here, behind these trees, they're coming towards us."

Both don't argue as I leave them on the ground. They run on their short legs to cover.

I slowly ascend to the point where I shouldn't be visible to anyone unless they look up and see the pulsing red light seeping through the cracks in my scales.

Damn my sexy demon body.

The girl had short orange hair that stopped at her shoulders. She wore a white Japanese school uniform.

The guy had dark gray hair while he wore the male counterpart of the uniform.

The first thought that came into my head was that somehow, the first people I came across were the main characters. Who has that type of hair color except for MC's?!

"Stop following me, I don't need you nagging-" he stops completely, as I drop down from above.

They both pause, looking up at me.

Pure fear floods their face as they take a step back.

Being a demon really helps this intimidation thing I'm going for.

I felt something enter my body, fear energy. Instead of draining me, it seemed to fill me up slightly.

The opening of the portal had left me running at only a third of what I originally had.

"V-V-Villian!" The girl shouted.

Villain, huh. That's not quite what I was expecting.

"Hiru-san! Use your quirk quickly!" She said once again.

Oh, well, she just spelled it out for me.

I'm in My Hero Academia.

Not bad for a start...

Yup, it's MHA. Had to think about this for a second, but it does seem good enough. It felt like the upper limit of power here corresponded with where I wanted Thorn to be when I end this arc.

Suggestions for worlds, criticism, or reviews would be appreciated!
