The next morning, Morena woke up earlier than usual.
Her body felt far better after a night of rest, but she didn't have the freedom to relax too much. Not only did she have to learn the new spells she had gathered, but she had to speak to Verra again soon, and the Ash Circle invitation was a matter she had to settle as well.
It had been one thing after another.
She sat up on her bed and looked toward the desk, where Memory Mark and Thought Needle had been placed neatly beside her badge.
"Status."

[Mental fatigue: low.]
[Matrix stable.]
[No abnormal effects detected.]
She had almost fully recovered overnight.
Morena got ready, placed the two spell books safely into her bag, and made sure her badge was properly attached to her robe. The new mark Verra had placed on it was still faint, almost impossible to notice unless someone knew what to look for.
That was probably intentional.
