For a while after Felix finished speaking, they sat in silence, Lyla stubbornly staring at her drink with her lips pressed so hard that they turned into nothing but a straight white line. Although her expression was dark, Felix took her silence for a good sign - since she wasn't arguing with him right away, perhaps she was giving his words some consideration…
But no. Not quite.
"Do you think I don't already know that?" she eventually asked, the tone of her voice, although more dispirited than usual, still carrying hints of mockery. "No one would like others messing with the person they like. Even children know that much."
Hearing Lyla's response, Felix furrowed his brows.
