Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

The motorcycle sped down the dry dirt road, kicking up a long trail of dust behind it like a slithering snake. Thanks to the protective glass shield, Raiga wasn't covered in dust, though he still looked travel-worn from the long ride.

After a full day of sightseeing and travel, Raiga entered a vast and flat plain.

This was an uninhabited and desolate land.

In these stretches of wilderness between cities, where law enforcement rarely patrolled, bandits and thieves thrived. They weren't skilled warriors, just opportunistic crooks who targeted passing merchants. Ironically, major trade routes with high traffic and well-prepared caravans were far less likely to see robberies.

Throughout his journey, Raiga had encountered several attempts at roadside ambushes. Needless to say, the outcomes were obvious. Instead of losing anything, he ended up plundering the bandits instead.

Hmph. Ordinary thieves were no match for him.

It was honestly a miracle that, in the original story, Bulma wandered around alone without running into any danger.

As Raiga approached Mount Paozu, the scenery became increasingly lush. Greenery spread across the land, and rolling mountains became more common.

By evening, the sky darkened.

Raiga pulled his motorcycle over to the side of the road and stepped off. In a flash of white light, he shot into the distant mountains. Moments later, he emerged, dragging a massive beast behind him.

He tossed out a Capsule, releasing a full set of cooking equipment, and began preparing the freshly caught creature. Saiyans had enormous appetites, and as long as the inedible parts were removed, they could consume almost anything.

After a satisfying meal, Raiga gazed up at the darkening sky and decided to stop for the night.

"A few more days of travel, and I'll reach Mount Paozu. No point pushing on now."

With that thought, Raiga gathered energy in his hand and fired a small ki blast, clearing a patch of land to create a smooth, level surface.

With a clap of his hands, he nodded in satisfaction. Over the past few weeks, his control over energy attacks had improved significantly. He then retrieved a two-story house Capsule, placed it on the newly flattened ground, and activated the electric water heater to warm up some bathwater.

While the water heated, Raiga stepped outside to train. He moved swiftly—throwing punches, dodging, leaping side to side—his muscles tensing and relaxing with each motion. Sweat formed into tiny crystalline droplets before rolling off his skin.

Training required relentless dedication. Even the slightest slackening would result in regression.

If Sephiria found out he was slacking, she'd definitely chew him out.

Speaking of Sephiria… Raiga realized he had been away from Planet Vegeta for over nine months now.

According to the timeline, in just three more months, Planet Vegeta would be destroyed.

That woman was incredibly stubborn. She might actually follow orders and obediently return to Planet Vegeta.

Raiga, however, had never felt much attachment to the Saiyan race or their homeworld. He was the type to look out for himself and not worry about anyone else. Whether Planet Vegeta survived or not wasn't his concern.

But… Sephiria was different.

Maybe it was because they had spent the past few months together, but the thought of her dying didn't sit well with him.

"I should probably find a way to save her. After all, she is my sister."

"If I'm going to save her, I need to get stronger. I can't afford to be mocked by Sephiria for being weak."

With renewed determination, Raiga focused harder on his training.

His power level was currently around 460, having increased by a few points over the past few days, bringing him closer to 470. But compared to Sephiria, he was still leagues behind.

The first time they met, she already had a power level of 4,200, and she was surely even stronger now.

Sometimes, Raiga couldn't help but envy her talent.

That night, after a warm bath, Raiga climbed into bed. He absentmindedly flipped through boring TV channels while munching on some fruit from the fridge.

The programs were dull, and before long, he turned off the TV and prepared to sleep.

A Mysterious Visitor

Late at night, under a sky full of shimmering stars, the soft glow of moonlight filtered through the glass windows, casting a delicate silver sheen across the room. The quiet sounds of croaking frogs and buzzing insects filled the air, painting a peaceful countryside scene.

BANG! BANG BANG!!

A loud knocking echoed from outside.

Raiga frowned and turned over in bed, trying to ignore it. But the knocking grew louder and more persistent, making it impossible to sleep.

"Tch. Could it be some wild animal? Hmph. If so, I'll just turn it into breakfast tomorrow!"

Annoyed, he threw on a robe and walked toward the door.

"Whoever's out there, stop making noise! Do you want to be eaten?!"

When he yanked the door open, instead of a wild beast, he found a stunning blonde girl standing before him.

She looked around sixteen or seventeen years old, with a graceful figure, delicate features, and large, crystal-clear blue eyes that sparkled like gemstones.

"Ah! I'm so sorry, little brother! Did I wake you up?" the girl said apologetically. "I lost my Capsule case and don't have anywhere to stay. Could I spend the night here?"

A woman.

Was this some kind of scam? Or a setup?

Raiga remained expressionless, carefully observing her. After confirming that she was alone, he stepped aside and let her in.

The blonde girl beamed. "Thank you!" Without hesitation, she walked inside, completely unconcerned about the possibility of danger.

"You're out here all by yourself? That's pretty risky. Where are your family members?" she asked, chattering away as she entered.

Raiga took the chance to study her closely.

She had long, silky golden hair reaching down to her waist, with a wide-brimmed soft hat perched atop her head. She carried a light purple backpack on her shoulders and wore a tight-fitting red dress, which elegantly accentuated her slender and well-proportioned figure.

Her clothes were slightly dusty, likely from traveling long distances, making her look a bit disheveled.

Judging by the pearl necklace around her neck, she was definitely wealthy—probably a noble or a rich heiress.

"Yeah, I live alone."

"Wow! That's impressive." The girl smiled. "By the way, do you have a bathroom? I really need a bath."

Raiga was speechless.

Was the Dragon Ball world really this innocent?

It was the middle of the night, and a young girl just waltzed into a stranger's house without a second thought… and now she wanted to bathe?

Good thing she ran into him.

Expressionless, Raiga pointed down the hallway. "Over there. The hot water's already ready."

"Yay! You're the best! I'll go take a bath now!" The girl happily tossed her hat and backpack onto the table before heading straight for the bathroom. Soon, the sound of running water echoed through the house.

…Did she just make herself at home?

Raiga was now certain—this girl wasn't a scammer. She was just… a bit dense.

Curious, he glanced at the purple backpack she left on the table.

Opening it, he found very few personal items. Instead, there was a miniature laptop and several notebooks filled with writing.

Raiga picked up one of the booklets and flipped through it.

Then, he realized something—

He couldn't read Earth's written language.
