"What do we do next? Do we summon the dragon right away?"
In a vast, open area, Tais eagerly followed beside Raiga, her face full of anticipation.
"Yes, it's time to begin."
Raiga nodded, his gaze fixed on the glowing Dragon Balls on the ground. He could barely contain his excitement. Taking a deep breath, he raised his voice and called out:
"Come forth, Eternal Dragon!"
After shouting, Raiga stood still, waiting in silence. Since this was his first time summoning the dragon, he could only mimic the incantation from the original story. It should work.
Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, the seven Dragon Balls on the ground began to flash at an increasing pace. A deep humming sound intensified, resembling high-voltage electricity crackling in the air. In an instant, dark clouds gathered in the sky, replacing the bright blue expanse with a foreboding darkness.
Tais, feeling a sudden chill, took a few steps back in fear. But when she saw Raiga standing firm, unshaken like an ancient deity, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She scolded herself inwardly—how humiliating! She was more frightened than a child!
Summoning her courage, she pulled out a camera and aimed it at the Dragon Balls, eager to capture the upcoming moment of wonder.
A deafening clap of thunder rang out.
From the inky blackness above, golden light pierced through the clouds, illuminating the heavens in a dazzling spectacle. Soon, a majestic and towering green dragon coiled within the dark clouds, its glowing red eyes scanning the ground below.
"Speak your wish, human who has gathered the Dragon Balls. I shall grant you one wish—only one."
Seeing the mighty dragon above, Raiga's eyes glowed with excitement. Tais, overwhelmed, grabbed Raiga's shoulder, half-thrilled and half-terrified, pointing at the divine creature in awe. "It's real! The Eternal Dragon actually appeared! And it's incredible! Hurry, say your wish!"
Raiga smiled and steadied himself before looking up at the dragon.
"Eternal Dragon, I have a sister named Sephilia. I wish for you to bring her to my side."
He voiced his wish clearly. Sephilia was, after all, his only sister. No matter how he thought about it, abandoning her was not an option. He wanted to bring her to Earth to keep her safe.
In a short time, Planet Vegeta would be destroyed. Raiga didn't care about the other Saiyans, but Sephilia was different—he had to save her.
After a moment of silence, the dragon prepared to grant the wish. But then, after a brief pause, its deep voice resounded once more.
"I am sorry. This wish cannot be granted. The individual in question has refused your request. Please choose another wish."
"What?" Raiga's expression froze in shock. This was completely unexpected.
Refused?!
What the hell was Sephilia thinking?!
The dragon's voice boomed again, as if sensing his confusion: "The one you seek possesses strength beyond my own. I cannot forcibly relocate someone of superior power. Additionally, she does not believe in the information I provided. Please choose another wish."
Raiga furrowed his brows and scratched his head.
It made sense—if the dragon couldn't exert power over stronger beings, it wouldn't be able to force Sephilia to move. In the original story, Oolong had tried to use the Dragon Balls to stop the Saiyan invasion but failed. Even the Namekian Dragon Balls required Goku's consent to teleport him from space.
If Sephilia wasn't cooperating, there was no way around it.
Should he abandon her?
After a brief moment of thought, Raiga shook his head. No, he couldn't leave her behind. She was his only family in this world. He owed her that much after all their time together. It looked like he would have to go to Planet Vegeta himself and bring her back.
That stubborn woman—he had already gone through so much trouble for her.
"Eternal Dragon, grant me the ability to teleport instantly, just like the Supreme Kai apprentice, Kibito!"
"I am sorry. That ability is bestowed by the universal laws upon the Supreme Kai apprentices."
The dragon's voice was as calm as ever.
Raiga nodded. He had expected that answer. He had tried to find a loophole, but it seemed impossible. The ability to teleport freely, like Kibito, was a privilege granted by the universe itself, not something that could be obtained through a wish.
That left only the Instant Transmission technique of the Yardrats. It wasn't as powerful as Kibito's, but it would still be highly effective.
Just as he was about to make the wish, he suddenly realized a flaw. The Yardrats' Instant Transmission required sensing another person's energy signature to work. But Raiga didn't know how to sense energy yet! Even if he learned the technique, he wouldn't be able to use it right away. If he delayed too long, he might miss his chance to save Sephilia.
"Human, state your wish. It must be within the limits of my power."
Raiga pondered for a moment before looking up at the dragon. "Is there any technique in the universe that allows instant teleportation without the need to sense energy? If such a skill exists, then grant it to me."
Suspended in midair, the dragon fell into a long silence. Just when Raiga was beginning to lose hope, the dragon spoke.
"There exists a technique known as 'Transfer Arts' on the planet Metamoru. It is similar to Instant Transmission, but it requires sufficient energy to activate. Do you wish for this ability?"
Metamoru… Transfer Arts.
It sounded similar to the Fusion Dance technique.
Raiga gave his answer without hesitation. "Yes. Teach me this technique!"
"Very well. Your wish shall be granted!"
A resounding voice echoed through the heavens. The dragon's eyes flashed a deep red.
Tais gasped and recoiled at the eerie glow, but Raiga remained calm—he knew this was simply the dragon unleashing its power. In the next instant, an influx of complex knowledge flooded his mind, rapidly integrating as if he had personally undergone rigorous training.
It was the Transfer Arts of the Metamoru race!
The technique functioned much like the Fusion Dance, utilizing special methods to manipulate internal energy, producing results far beyond the body's natural limits. However, Transfer Arts focused specifically on spatial movement—akin to the wormhole technology seen in science fiction. The user could open a portal to a chosen destination but had to know its location in advance.
Otherwise, they risked teleporting into a dangerous void or even inside a star.
Absorbing such an intricate technique left Raiga's head aching. Then, he heard the dragon's voice one last time.
"Your wish has been granted. Farewell!"
With that, the dragon soared into the sky, splitting into seven beams of light that scattered across the world. The sky, which had been cloaked in darkness, returned to its normal brightness.
"Raiga, are you okay?" Tais asked, noticing his eyes were still closed.
Raiga exhaled. "I'm fine. I just absorbed a lot of information at once and need a moment to process it."
"That's good… But about your sister, Sephilia—why couldn't the dragon bring her here? Isn't it supposed to be all-powerful? How could it fail to teleport a single girl?"
"She's just a brute," Raiga muttered, remembering all the times he had suffered under her hands back on Planet Vegeta. His head throbbed just thinking about it.
Sighing, he decided to test his newly acquired Transfer Arts.
Though he had learned it in theory, practical application was still necessary.
Seeing that Raiga didn't want to talk about Sephilia any further, Tais nodded and turned her attention back to her camera, eagerly reviewing the footage she had captured. If she released this, the world would go crazy over it.
...
Meanwhile, high above, in the Heavenly Realm, the Guardian of Earth had been closely observing the summoning of the Eternal Dragon. After all, the dragon's presence was no small matter—if it fell into the wrong hands, it could lead to chaos.
However, upon realizing that the summoner was Raiga, the Guardian felt his heart tighten. This mysterious alien child, though young, possessed unfathomable strength. If he harbored ill intent, even the Guardian himself would be powerless against him.
Thankfully, Raiga's wish wasn't evil. The Guardian sighed in relief.
As the Dragon Balls dispersed, the old Guardian murmured with a complex expression, "Even the Eternal Dragon is powerless before such beings… There are still forces in this universe far beyond our understanding."
A deep sense of urgency settled in his heart.
Compared to the vast cosmos, Earth was still far too weak.
