For five consecutive days, Shang Yuan nearly consumed no food or drink, and furthermore spurred his horse continuously across an entire long journey, causing his strength to be on the verge of exhaustion; if he traveled alone, it was to be feared he would find it difficult to pass through.
Yet even if it were so, then what of it? Human life was originally impermanent; whether his very self existed or not, what meaning did it possess anyway?
At present, the road up the mountain was treacherous beyond measure, the dense rain and snow rendering the space all the more muddled and dark; two people, one master and one servant, supported one another as they walked, nonetheless having only covered half the road, Shang Yuan suddenly stopped. He sat down leaning against a tree trunk beside the road, curling his frame up, in a lowered voice saying: "I will rest for a small bit…"
Right at this moment, he solely wished to curl his frame up to sleep a long sleep, that was all...
Knew he not whether there possessed a sleep extending unto eternity, to permit his heart to cease sorrowful aching and forget entire wholes of all dark and ungrateful affairs of the worldly life or not? If there were, he wished to obtain this single sleep unto forever…
Meeting the person no more… permanently wishing to meet no more...
"Master…" Looking upon the person in such a manner, the bodyguard could solely shake his head and sigh; immediately, he pulled the person up, carrying him upon his back, and then step by step walked up toward the mountain peak.
Upon the peak of this Shang Mountain, there was a very grand temple; it was precisely the place the Empress Dowager chose to serve as the place for practicing cultivation. Today bringing Shang Yuan up the mountain, it was to be feared there remained no day of turning back.
Throughout many days, RongCheng permitted people to go everywhere to search for Shang Yuan's trace and shadow; his very self also nearly turned upside down the entire capital city along with several neighboring villages and towns, yet did not see a shred of the person's silhouette anywhere.
He solely pondered that Shang Yuan was angry and then departed to somewhere, but absolutely did not ponder that the person had arrived at far-away Shang Mountain.
Every single day, inside the heart of RongCheng it was all the more as though burning with fire, being unable to sit or stand peacefully, exhausting mind and agonizing thoughts searching. Until the seventh night, the Emperor suddenly arrived, transmitting to him a letter, in a cold voice saying: "Cheng'er, the Empress Dowager transmitted a letter back requesting you to write a letter of divorce and harmony-severance, cutting off the relationship of husband and wife along with Shang Yuan; royal son, pray you arrange and hastily perform it."
"Write a letter of divorce and harmony-severance?" Just listening through, RongCheng felt as though his very self had just been struck by thunder; he panicked, and then again was dazed, receiving the letter while his heart violently and frantically thudded: "For what cause must I write? For what cause do you force me to have to write?"
For what cause right in the midst of this moment did the Empress Dowager force him to have to perform this matter? Or could it be that…
The Emperor suddenly let out a sigh, saying: "Royal son, by your very self look through the letter; it is the intent of the Empress Dowager, and also the wish of A Yuan. Having played and amused sufficiently, up to present royal son is no longer small; you ought to also know to think for the rivers and mountains, the state and society."
His words finished, his Majesty patted the shoulder of RongCheng several turns, and then turned away.
Albeit his Majesty spoke in such a manner, yet how could RongCheng pay much mind; he solely thought toward one single affair: "A Yuan…? A Yuan wishes to cut off the relationship along with me?"
Immediately, RongCheng opened the letter to look; looking to wherever, his hands shuddered violently to there… in a short while, he thereupon tore it to pieces.
RongCheng grinded his teeth, saying: "No… think not of cutting off the relationship along with me."
The affection and care of husband and wife, deep and loving, was in no way a matter of one morning or one evening; even having once entered life and emerged from death without shrinking from danger, now merely because of one small error, speaking of cutting off meant having to cut off straight away or what?
"I must arrive at Shang Mountain, find the Empress Dowager, find him to speak truly clearly." Thinking toward it, he thereupon rapidly departed from the imperial palace, heading straight in the direction toward Shang Mountain.
Upon the road, the horse galloped with urgent urges; RongCheng felt his head aching and throbbing without bound…
"A Yuan… A Yuan..."
"Who required you to return freedom to me? Who required you to step back so that my road of emperor could be widened?" Not wrong… devoid of the person, he would possess rightful title and proper standing to inherit the throne, nonetheless…
"I require it not…!!!" If it were devoid of the person, this life, this throne, this power and influence would possess no meaning further at all.
Speaking forever, it was also merely an excuse, was it correct or not? Solely because he had illicitly entangled along with an interloper, the person thereupon outright cast him away in such a manner or what?
Without a single shred of thinking…
Without granting a single word of explanation...
Also without a single shred of lingering regret, speaking of abandoning meant abandoning straight away…
For what cause was the person cold, indifferent, and cruel in such a manner?
Right at this moment, RongCheng solely wished to find Shang Yuan to speak to get out the reason, and by every price must bring the person back to this place.
Stepping into that love affair, the person inside the scene or the interloper were both miserable and suffering identically; after how many days of by his own self avoiding showing his face, in the final analysis Yan Si also decided to return to the palace.
The period of catching sight of him returning, Mao Zi sat up, wagging its tail and spinning round and round, and then charged forward.
Yan Si thought at least there possessed someone who felt glad because of his presence, therefore feeling somewhat comforted, spreading open his arms to welcome it, yet expected not that it charged forward and then ran whizzing past straight away.
This dead-foolish dog… even it was thus or what? Yan Si turned his frame around to look toward Mao Zi, again catching sight of it frantically wagging its tail, spinning round and round, and then charging in the direction toward him one further turn.
Thinking just now it merely was running past the limit, that was all, because of that Yan Si again sat down, spreading open his arms to await to welcome Mao Zi, who expected it still kept running past right by his person.
Yan Si commenced to possess a part of anger, turning back to look at Mao Zi; it still kept maintaining that posture of joy just now and ran whizzing forward... This turn, he decided to welcome it one further turn…
Mao Zi still kept running whizzing past Yan Si, causing him in anger to stand up and depart away.
"Care not for you further, foolish dog." Immediately after that, he returned back to the bed, lying down, lost in deep thought and reflection.
At this time, Mao Zi from afar gathered momentum running forward; it bounded up high, and then landed straight down upon Yan Si's person with one strike, causing him nearly to lose his breath.
