Chapter 56 - 56. Age Old Philosophy

The day passed by, and night came.

"Mother, I have to leave now..." Xie Yue said to Tang Yuehua.

"Next time, you must stay with me longer," Tang Yuehua said as she tiptoed and kissed Xie Yue's cheek. Without her heels, it was harder for her to kiss him.

"You have already grown this tall," she said with a smile as she noticed the change in his height.

Xie Yue was now nearly 170 cm tall, while Tang Yuehua was 164 cm. Now, with Xie Yue being taller than her, she couldn't kiss him without tiptoeing.

"Yeah... I have grown taller, and I will continue to grow taller," Xie Yue said as they hugged and bid farewell.

Tang Yuehua didn't make a scene about him leaving early since Xie Yue had already explained the reason. He had told her that he came with his uncle's daughter, who was waiting for him at a hotel, so he had to leave.

Xie Yue still hadn't told her about his biological sister, Hu Liena. So until now, Tang Yuehua thought he was an orphan and alone. Since that misconception worked in his favor in many situations, he let her continue believing it.

Leaving the Moon Pavilion, Xie Yue felt a little regretful about the day.

"If I had stayed here today, I could have taken advantage of my little teacher... Ohh... now mother..."

"But my schedule is already tight... Although corrupting her and making her my pet mommy is fun and enjoyable, I still can't waste my time here. The Immortal Grass is the main priority. Until I have those grasses in my hands, I can't be careless," Xie Yue thought.

Anything related to the Dugu family was very important to him. He couldn't delay the plan regarding the Immortal Grass. If he wanted, he could have stayed the night with his new mother. After all, it was just a half-day delay... Would he conquer this world in half a day? No, he wouldn't, and he wouldn't lose anything. But he still wasn't going to take any risks when it came to the Immortal Grass.

A place to flirt is a hero's grave.

Tang Yuehua could wait. She wasn't going to run away. But Dugu Yan couldn't wait... What if Dugu Yan left the city half a day before Xie Yue reached there? That would be a loss for him.

"The next time I come here, I will enjoy my new mother's milkers. After all, now she is my mother; her milkers belong to me. She can't say anything about that... Hehehe," Xie Yue licked his lips as he thought evilly.

Since Tang Yuehua wanted to be his mother so much, how could he refuse her? Hehe... But being his mother came with a price. Whether that price was small or big depended on one's perspective; Tang Yuehua had to fulfill her duties as a mother properly. Feeding him milk was one of them. Even if she couldn't produce milk, Xie Yue would keep sucking on her milkers all his life. There was no harm in trying.

Didn't everyone say that hard work always bore fruit? He wanted to confirm that ancient saying. He would keep trying... He wouldn't get tired unless her tits got old.

Two Days Later

A carriage left the Heaven Dou Empire City Gate.

Through the carriage window, a beautiful little girl was waving her chubby little hands at the passersby. That girl was Ning Rongrong.

After two days of traveling, they had already reached their destination: Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. Since the academy was situated outside the imperial city, they had to leave the city gates before reaching it.

As the carriage continued moving, one could see a tall mountain in the distance through the carriage window. That was where the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy was located.

"Wow! Big brother, is that the mountain you mentioned? It's getting bigger and bigger!" Rongrong exclaimed cutely as she saw the mountain. In her view, as the carriage traveled toward the mountain, it appeared to grow larger.

"Rongrong, it's not the mountain that is getting bigger and bigger. The mountain has always been there. It didn't move or change its size. It's us who are getting closer to it. So, from our perspective, it seems to be growing bigger. It's similar to how we usually see people and things; when they are near, they look shorter or taller depending on how close we are," Hu Liena explained to the little girl patiently.

"Oh! So big! Is it really possible for it to be this big?" Rongrong opened her cute mouth in an 'O' shape. It was truly a novel experience for her, and it was a little hard for her to accept.

"Haha! Little Rongrong, it's really possible. There are many mountains bigger than this one. There are also many rivers larger than the little water pool we have at home," Hu Liena said as she patted Rongrong's head.

She had experienced the same thing when she was young; back then, her brother had explained these things to her. Thinking about those memories with her brother brought a big smile to her face.

"Oh!" Rongrong still kept her mouth in an 'O' shape.

Hearing Hu Liena explain things to Ning Rongrong, Xie Yue smiled.

'This situation is very common. It's not that Rongrong has never experienced this; it's just that she's seeing something this big for the first time. So it's hard for her to accept. Once she gets used to it, she won't be so shocked anymore.

The problems we humans face in our lives are similar to this situation,' Xie Yue thought to himself, smiling as he recalled some philosophies.

Be it humans or other beings, everyone faces many problems in life.

If the same problem were given to different people, each person would have a different opinion.

One might say the problem is too big for them and hard to solve.

Another might say the problem is too easy and that they can find a solution and fix the situation within a few days.

There might even be someone who can solve the problem easily within a minute.

Did the problem ever change?

No.

The size of the problem was always the same. It was the people who were different. The perspective was different. The experience each person had was different.

The same applies to the mountain; if one looks at it up close, it appears big, but from far away, it appears small. It's all about perspective. The closer we are to a problem, the bigger it feels and the harder it is to accept.

And if someone who has seen much bigger mountains sees this one, they won't feel anything. That's the difference experience makes. If we've already faced bigger crises in our lives, we'll see other problems as small.

A six-year-old child won't feel anything when faced with regular life situations. Be it their family members or their toys, the child won't doubt anything when she sees her father looking small in the distance or her toy looking big up close—because she is familiar with them.

But when she encounters something truly big for the first time, she reacts. After getting used to that feeling of awe, she won't react as strongly anymore. That is the same as gaining experience in life.

'Here, the size of the mountain never changed, and in life, the size of the problem never changed. Perspective and experience are what make all the difference.'

Throughout his life on Earth, he had experienced many things and faced many problems. That was why he could navigate challenges so easily. His age had given him experience, and his experience had given him the ability to think from many different perspectives.

Though his IQ allowed him to analyze situations well even when he was young, it was only average compared to other geniuses on Earth. It was his years of experience that truly gave him the ability to view things from various angles.
