Chapter 308 - chapter 107

Mo Huai stepped to the ground, "Fellow Elder, Are you injured?"

Nine Clouds Earth Di shook his head, "Other than ego and my laws being depleted? No." he stood up and from the ground rose a pole he leant against.

His human form, as opposed to the giant earth (wooden in the case it is reversed) creature, stood at an average height. He wore a green robe with trinkets decorating a strip from shoulder to hip, various gems containing vast amounts of various laws.

He took one of those gems swaying on his 'belt' and bit into it, his rock like teeth assimilating into them instantly. He chose to do cultivation in a way that works behind the Spirit Stone Soul, transforming his self into a sort of magical creature.

His corse rough brown hair reflected the low light given off by the vein of purple crystal above them, he cleared his throat.

"Nine Clouds Purple Miasma, I've heard of you much lately. Finally showing off your strength, I suppose you'll soon become much more famous…" he slowed down as his head raised, "Do you have an idea how to destroy it?"

William jumped down from the sky and had already walked over when Earth Di pointed to him, "You two appear to have some sort of ability to resist that reversal power, no?"

Mo Huai raised his hands weakly, "Me? Not entirely…" he thought back to when he just entered, Hamar had told him that he had to be quick, "My…resistance is expensive, let's say. But," he put his hand on William's shoulder, "One of my subordinates here does."

Earth Di nodded, "Is he…?" he raised his eyebrows, making eye contact with Mo Huai.

"Haha," Mo Huai chuckled, "Are the rumours really so spread? Yes, he's one of the people trained in my land as a new force competing against cultivators. I'll tell you, he's a swordsman."

Mo Huai, inwardly, smirked; his plan had worked. The 'rumours' he spoke of were actually something that he made himself. If he were secretive about training the swordsmen then it would only invite people to spy…

So instead of blocking them, he fed them a little information. Just enough that it made people feel they had an 'in' with his actions, when really they were all part of his plan.

Earth Di stumbled over to William, "Old just like me, eh. I would've thought all of them would be young sprouts."

Mo Huai smiled, "He may look like us, but he doesn't act like it entirely, he's got a young soul so to speak, haha!"

William chuckled and put his fists together, "It is nice to meet you, I am William."

Earth Di patted him a few then stepped back, "I am Nine Clouds Earth Di, call me Earth Di." he stepped back, "As I was saying, do you have a way to destroy that," he pointed upwards, "My attacks were merely reflected and what little damage it did was negligible before I was quickly ambushed by that vampire."

William held out his hand, guaging his aura levels. After constant fighting before the vampire and now after, he had little remaining from his already-low reserves.

"I'm afraid that I can't do too much, I dont think it's possible for me to destroy it, no, I'm sure of it."

Earth Di groaned, he slumped back and thought about it more when–

Hamar's hand flicks to the side, from Mo Huai and William a grid appears. Aura forms a conduit from which a thought is transmitted. Casualty leaching from his being as it happens.

A revelation has been sent to a 'non-believer'

"Ah!" Earth Di slammed his fist against an open palm, "Well, we shouldn't need to simply destroy it…can you damage it? How much?"

William looked up at the massive size of the crystal and how far it stretched, "Not much, I imagine I could do twenty shallow cuts or one deep cut?"

Earth Di bit his cheek, "And how long until you can recover to do the same?"

"I'd say give me one day per."

"one day per deep cut, that's enough…maybe."

""maybe" how so?" Mo Huai interjected, vaguely getting what Earth Di wanted to do but wanting clarification.

"A formation is built of a delicate structure, sometimes even a simple obstruction causes the whole thing to stop working. I know such a grand formation wouldn't have such a simple fault but still, our experts should be able to deduce a way to destroy it not with massive attacks but small precise strikes at specific points."

"It's possible but we'd need to map it out, then wait for it to be processed, then actually do the process which would take quite some time even in the best scenario?" Mo Huai pointed out.

Earth Di nodded, "That is true, but think of it in the grand scale. That one vampire could go against me with it's power, imagine if it was fully activated and used on the entire battlefield. It would t be as strong but the sheer scale…if we can cause them to use it on single defenders down here underground, then it won't be used above ground."

William butted in, "If sounds like a good idea, I say do it. Or at least, check with the formation experts whether it's a plausible plan."

Mo Huai pinched his brow, "You know what…let's do it. If Earth Di thinks it's a good idea, it should be good. First, we should form a group name and communication method as a splinter cell from the main war effort."

William held his hand up, "Team Tri-Ground. 'tri' representing the three of us, and ground representing the leader, Earth Di, and that we work in the ground."

"Works for me," spoke Earth Di and Mo Huai simultaneously.

Earth Di turned to Mo Huai, "You can contact the formation par tof the sect? I recall you were a disciple of the head Elder?"

Mo Haui nodded, "I can do that. William and you should start moving through this tunnel network and disrupting Yi Sect while observing the formation. Each of you take this," he pulled a fist from his sleeve.

He opened it to reveal three small golden needles, "I have this artifact given by somebody I know, each of us will be connected by a string that can be used for basic communication, no large thought transfers though. William," he flared, "You know to be careful with it."

With that said, he snapped his fingers and switched place with a miasma soldier again. The three golden needle appeared within it's hands with an intangible string connected to eachother.

It had limited thought capacity and held them out, "According to master I will follow each of you as my master. Order me what is needed, if master is needed I will switch place with him."
