Chapter 405 - Chapter 404: Room Assignments

Kakuzu had been planning to bring this up himself, but he was surprised that Torifu had directly offered it as a reward. That was good, and it would also inspire his brothers. They had never used electrical appliances before, and now it was their turn to enjoy them. And because they had no permanent residence, they couldn't even use cell phones. They had long heard that in Konoha, you could not only play games on a cell phone but also make long-distance calls! All you had to do was dial the right number to talk to anyone you wanted.

But they had no way of using this high-end stuff. First of all, how to charge the phone was a problem. And even if they had power, they couldn't make calls. Although they could sort of play games, the organization was almost always on the move, so they had no time to play. They had suffered all the hardships but hadn't been able to enjoy any of the comforts. If they hadn't gotten a base now, they wouldn't have known when they'd ever get to use electrical appliances.

For all these years, they had been a powerful organization in the ninja world, but in reality, they had lived like vagrants. Although they had money, there was almost nowhere to spend it besides on food. Naturally, they couldn't date or get married. One day they would just meet someone, and the next day they would have to leave. How could that work? So, anyone who could stay in this organization for a year was loyal to it, or they had no other way out and couldn't survive if they left the organization.

Kakuzu pushed the two children towards Torifu. Torifu had a smile on his face the entire time, which greatly reduced Yahiko and Konan's wariness. They were no longer so afraid of Torifu.

Torifu then took out two candies from his Space Ring. "Try it and see if you like it."

Yahiko and Konan hadn't had candy in who knows how long. They had always been picking up garbage or eating expired bread. Even when they stole from the streets, they would only steal things that could fill them up. Candy was not one of their targets, because it would make them hungrier and thirstier. But now they happily accepted it. Hadn't they just said they were going to a new home? They probably wouldn't have to worry about food and water there.

Although they didn't know Torifu's identity or what a Hokage was, they had good judgment. They could tell that Torifu's identity was not ordinary; his clothes and style were very refined. After having a hard time unwrapping the candy, they put it into their mouths. The sweet taste felt like a dream. It was the taste of a dream.

"Kakuzu, I'm going to take them back now. If you need anything, contact me through the mark. Let me know what materials you need for the Rain Province all at once."

Kakuzu nodded. "Okay, Leader. Don't worry, I will take good care of the base."

Torifu smiled. All this time, he hadn't really managed anyone in the organization. He didn't even know how many people there were or what their names were. If Kakuzu hadn't been running everything, the organization would have probably disappeared a long time ago. He felt a bit guilty toward Kakuzu. He would do his best to help them build their base this time. And he would also arrange for all sorts of electrical appliances, cell phones, and automatic recharges for them. They might not be able to get used to this kind of life right away, but they would get used to it.

After saying goodbye to Torifu, Kakuzu waved his sleeve and turned to leave. He took big strides toward the Rain Province. Torifu also ruffled the two children's heads. "Let's go. We're going back to the village."

He didn't use the Konoha gate. After all, if people found out about them ahead of time, it would cause a lot of unnecessary trouble. After a few jumps through the air, he arrived at the Kumotsuru clan compound. The two children were a bit dumbfounded. They had just been talking, and all of a sudden, they were flying. It scared them a lot.

In the air, Konan was too scared to open her eyes. Yahiko, as a man, forced himself to open his eyes. When he saw everything, he was a little overwhelmed. It was like Grandma Liu entering the Grand View Garden; everything and everyone was new to him. And he also saw how big the Kumotsuru clan compound was. Was this their new home from now on? This was heaven compared to what they had before.

"Konan, we're here. You can open your eyes now."

Konan had been holding her eyes shut tightly. It was only after Yahiko spoke that she put down her hands and opened her eyes.

"Wow, is... is this your home?"

Konan looked up at Torifu. Torifu nodded. "This is my home. You two will also live here from now on. But you have to call me Sensei."

Konan was very smart. She naturally understood what Torifu said and sweetly called him "Sensei" first. Yahiko followed suit and called him Sensei too.

"Good. You two have officially become my disciples. You must study hard with me in the future."

Torifu then led them to the two rooms that had just been cleaned up. "These two are your rooms. You can choose whichever one you want. They are connected, so you can visit each other whenever you want."

It was the first time they had seen such a big house. The two children were still a little shy. And when Torifu told them to pick a room, they were even more surprised.

"Sen... Sensei, can we really live here?"

Torifu smiled. "Of course. Where else would you live? In my room? Or share a room with your senior disciple?"

Konan shook her head repeatedly. "No, no, no, we'll pick our own."

Konan thought Torifu was really going to make them live with a senior disciple they had never met, so she quickly chose her room. Yahiko then automatically moved into the second room. The two children were exactly the same as Amado and Minato when they first came. They were penniless and very reserved. They carefully walked into the room, took off their dirty shoes, and put them by the door, afraid of making the room dirty.

The room was filled with fluffy carpets and large stuffed animals, which helped relieve their stress. After a while, the two children walked around the room and came back out.

"Sensei, thank you for giving us a place to live and for taking us in as apprentices."

Konan also copied Yahiko's pose and bowed.

Torifu waved his hand. "It's nothing. We're a family now, so you don't need to say such formal things."

"And there are many other members in this family. They're just not here. I'll introduce you to your relatives later."

After Torifu finished speaking, the two children nodded. "We'll listen to everything our Sensei says."

Torifu had to admit that these two children were really well-behaved. Especially Yahiko; he was very polite at such a young age. This might be his natural quality.
