Torifu hadn't expected that just after proposing, his Sensei was already thinking about holding a grand-apprentice. That would be at least a year or two from now, right? It probably wouldn't happen anytime soon.
"The main purpose of coming today is to invite you all to dinner at the hot pot restaurant. Elder Ashina, please bring Kushina along too, so we can all have a lively time."
Ashina hadn't expected to be included, so he naturally accepted graciously.
"Good. I will come."
"Where is Aunt? Why didn't I see her come out?"
Hashirama smiled. "She went out to buy groceries, but it looks like we won't be needing them now. Tomorrow noon, your Aunt is definitely going to cook a feast for you all. Just wait and enjoy."
Torifu was naturally very happy. "That's great. Then I'll bring the little ones here to eat tomorrow."
Speaking of the little ones, Hashirama remembered the big display Torifu made at the training grounds the other day. "I heard you made that big show just to demonstrate Ninjutsu to your newly accepted apprentices? What did they think after seeing it?"
Torifu waved his hand when he heard this. "They're just six-year-old kids. What kind of thoughts could they have? Nothing more than thinking it was very cool and handsome. But it should solidify their desire to train hard."
Hashirama nodded. For children who had just started training, that was enough. Torifu, this kid, was constantly bringing back children from outside. If it weren't for the fact that none of the children looked alike or resembled Torifu at all, Hashirama would have thought they were Torifu's illegitimate children.
He often sat on the sofa when he was free, wondering what kind of eye Torifu had to find so many extraordinarily talented children, all of whom were orphans. Perhaps it was one of his special abilities.
Just as the three of them were chatting, Mito returned from grocery shopping. Seeing a large group of people in the courtyard, she thought something had happened and immediately asked Hashirama.
Hashirama laughed heartily when he heard her. "Something extraordinary has happened! Torifu proposed to Naori, and Naori accepted! We're going to the hot pot restaurant for dinner tonight!"
This news was quite a shock to Mito. She had never considered it, thinking that with Torifu's personality, he would probably drag his feet for a few more years. She didn't expect it to be so sudden. She hadn't had time to prepare anything!
"Is, is this real?"
Seeing that his Aunt still didn't quite believe it, Torifu nodded. "It's true, Aunt. We just got back. You don't have to make dinner. We're going to the hot pot restaurant later."
"Oh, this really caught me by surprise. When is the wedding going to be held?"
Torifu smiled. "It should be in a couple of months. We need to prepare."
Mito was extremely happy now, the smile on her face almost never disappearing. She had long regarded Torifu and Naori as her own children. Now that her child was about to get married, the joy was hard to put into words.
"Good, good, good. Aunt will also have to think about what gift to give you."
Torifu didn't refuse. Giving a gift was a very direct way to express blessings. It was also Mito's kind intention, so he naturally couldn't decline. He recalled how, in his previous life, when his numerous aunts and relatives awkwardly tried to give him red envelopes, although he politely declined, his hand was very honest and accepted every red envelope handed to him. Therefore, human nature likes to receive blessings. Awkwardly refusing has no meaning and might even hurt feelings if not handled well.
"Come to Aunt's place tomorrow. I'll cook a great meal for you."
Torifu smiled and nodded. "I've been waiting for that, Aunt. I've been craving your food for a long time."
After chatting for a while longer with everyone, Torifu prepared to leave. Since they would be going to the hot pot restaurant for dinner soon anyway, there was no rush to keep chatting now. After confirming the dinner time with Hashirama, Torifu left the Senju Clan Compound.
He didn't activate his Concealment Jutsu the whole way, just walking down the street. He greeted every villager he passed.
"Hokage-sama seems to be in a very good mood today!"
"That's right. My mood is indeed very good today."
The villagers also subtly guessed what had happened to make the Hokage look so cheerful. Torifu had no intention of keeping the news a secret. When he and Naori got married, the village would definitely be lively. He was thinking of a way for all the villagers to attend. However, Konoha didn't have a venue large enough to accommodate all the villagers. Konoha had over thirty or forty thousand people, after all. Fortunately, there was still plenty of time to arrange this matter.
Just as he was about to arrive home, his phone suddenly rang. Someone was calling him. Torifu activated his Concealment Jutsu and then pulled out his phone. Seeing the number, he knew it was Kagami calling, and he had a feeling about what was going to happen.
"Hello, Kagami, is everything alright?"
Kagami on the other end of the line asked with a slight question in his voice. "Naori said you proposed to her. Is that true?"
"Of course, it's true. We just got back and also informed Sensei. We're all going out to eat tonight."
Hearing Torifu admit it in person, Kagami felt relieved. "It's good that it's true. I thought the little girl was pulling my leg. You two are finally going to have a happy ending."
Torifu's smile was obvious as he listened. "Thank you."
"Honestly, I've always looked forward to the day you and Naori get married, but now that it's actually happening, I feel a little uncomfortable."
Torifu understood the feeling. Anyone would feel uncomfortable if the little sister they had watched grow up suddenly married someone else.
"Don't worry, Kagami. I will take good care of Naori."
"I definitely trust your character, kid. Naori will be happy with you."
That was the truth. No one could find fault with Torifu's character; he was widely considered a good man in Konoha.
"Do you want to come to the dinner gathering tonight?"
"Forget it. Let's get together sometime when we have time. I won't mix in with those old guys."
Kagami was being bold, daring to speak about Tobirama like that. It seemed he had truly gained confidence from being the clan head.
But in the next second, his true colors showed. "Please don't tell Sensei, or I'll be in big trouble."
"Don't worry. I've recorded it all. I'll make sure the message is delivered." Torifu then ended the call, making sure Kagami was probably sweating profusely.
For some reason, this phone call from Kagami made Torifu feel much calmer. Before this, even though the proposal was successful, there was still a vague sense of nervousness. That was now completely gone.
The call ended, and Torifu returned to the compound. Minato, Yahiko, and Konan had all changed their clothes and were just waiting to go out for hot pot. Seeing Torifu return, they gathered around him.
