Chapter 367: The Divine Realm's Panic.
After Tianmeng Ice Silkworm's long winded explanation, Huo Yuhao finally gained a vague understanding of his current situation. Although many things were still unclear, he at least grasped one crucial fact he had just hit the jackpot.
"Oh, right. There's one more thing I need to tell you. See that 'sun' up there?" Tianmeng Ice Silkworm was clearly referring to the blindingly radiant celestial body in the sky.
Huo Yuhao nodded. "I see it. Is that also part of your power?"
Tianmeng Ice Silkworm shook its head. "No. I have no idea what it is either. It appeared suddenly while I was merging with you, seemingly drawn in by my spiritual energy. I don't know what exactly it is, but I feel an indescribable sense of divinity emanating from it. Perhaps… it has something to do with the gods?"
"The gods?"
Huo Yuhao's expression stiffened. He recalled the mysterious, god like whisper he had heard earlier and couldn't help but form a terrifying hypothesis. Could this "sun" be related to… that?
"Anyway, let's move on. Now look to your right. See that dull gray orb over there?" Tianmeng Ice Silkworm continued.
Huo Yuhao turned his head and spotted a dim, gray sphere floating nearby. Compared to the brilliant radiance of the sun, this orb looked faint and insignificant almost as if it had no presence at all.
"I suspect this thing is a fragment of a soul one that doesn't belong to our world. As for where it came from, I have no idea. However, despite its weak appearance, it possesses an extremely high level of purity. Even I can't interfere with it right now."
Tianmeng Ice Silkworm hesitated for a moment before adding, "Still, I don't sense any malice from it. It seems to be in deep slumber. Maybe it'll remain dormant for your entire life, or maybe one day, it'll wake up and cause some trouble. Who knows?"
"Alright, time for you to wake up. There are two humans waiting for you outside."
"Two humans?"
Before Huo Yuhao could process those words, his vision blurred, and his consciousness faded away.
As soon as Huo Yuhao's mind left the spiritual space, Tianmeng Ice Silkworm suddenly materialized, gazing up at the sun like entity in the sky.
Testing the waters, it called out, "Hey! You're sentient, aren't you? Now that the kid is gone, why don't you come down and have a chat?"
"…"
The sun above continued to radiate its golden brilliance, completely ignoring Tianmeng Ice Silkworm's provocation.
This made Tianmeng Ice Silkworm doubt itself.
Could I have been mistaken?
Maybe this sun like thing really doesn't have a will of its own?
Meanwhile, in the Divine Realm…
Inside the Divine Realm Committee, the five ruling God Kings sat around a table with grim expressions, reviewing the aftermath of what had just occurred.
"The Divine Realm's divine officers… have been almost entirely wiped out."
"Third and second tier gods most are critically injured or on the verge of death."
"First tier gods all are severely wounded."
God of Destruction finished listing the catastrophic losses before looking around and asking, "Has anyone figured out what caused this?"
The other four God Kings shook their heads.
Even Tang San who was among them had no answer.
At this point, he had yet to seize absolute control over the Divine Realm. Unlike in the future, where he would manipulate events to eliminate rivals and establish his dominance, he still had limited influence.
Due to the unique properties of the Divine Realm, time flowed differently.
One day in the Divine Realm equaled one year in the mortal world.
Thus, while only 20 years had passed for Tang San, 10,000 years had already gone by in the mortal realm.
Additionally, both the God of Kindness and the God of Evil had been replaced by new successors. The previous holders of these titles had chosen to play reincarnation games, binding themselves to lifetimes of endless entanglement.
(Technically, this world lacked a true cycle of reincarnation, so what they called "reincarnation" was really just them possessing newborns.)
"This power… what exactly was it?" The God of Evil muttered.
"I don't know." Tang San shook his head. "That power appeared out of nowhere, like it materialized from the void itself. And its sheer strength was… terrifying."
"It directly affected not just the Divine Realm but all of the lower mortal realms at the same time."
Tang San paused before continuing, "At a conservative estimate, its power is at least on par with the Divine Realm's Core System."
"You're saying… it surpasses a God King?!" The God of Destruction asked, his voice heavy.
"I can't say for sure," Tang San admitted.
"…"
The room fell into deep silence.
After a long while, someone sighed heavily.
"…These are troubled times."
A sense of powerlessness and dread settled over them.
The force they had just witnessed was beyond their reach beyond their comprehension.
And the worst part?
They had no idea where it had come from.
No idea whether it was friend or foe.
No idea what it wanted.
Until they uncovered the truth, the Divine Realm would never know peace.
Meanwhile, in the Mortal Realm…
Unlike the panic stricken Divine Realm, Ye Cheng was feeling completely at ease.
Using his Abyssal Sovereign powers, he casually created a physical body in this world and descended into it.
Now disguised as a mortal he began wandering through the "future world" of 10,000 years later.
As for Huo Yuhao, he had already left a fragment of his power inside the boy's spiritual sea.
If necessary, he could descend at any time, interfere with certain events, and even play the role of a mysterious senior when needed.
For now, he was simply taking a break, exploring the world at his leisure.
At the same time
Along his journey, he could secretly eliminate certain problematic figures before they could cause trouble.
(PS: Many regrettable events in the original story happened around Huo Yuhao, so leaving a fragment of power in him makes it easier to intervene. If he sees anything annoying, he can step in directly and ruin the plot. Especially if it messes up Tang San's grand schemes.)
Some might wonder: Why doesn't the protagonist just kill Tang San outright?
Technically, he could.
But where's the fun in that?
Beating an enemy to death is boring.
Destroying them mentally?
Far more satisfying.
When reading the original story, there were so many frustrating moments that made me want to punch a hole through my screen.
Now that I'm here, I'm going to wreck the story from the inside.
I'm going to make sure Tang San who thinks he can control fate learns who the real boss is.
If any readers have ideas about which parts of the original story should be changed or what kind of chaos the protagonist should cause, feel free to comment!
If I like it, I'll make it happen.
