Chapter 613: It's Kong Deming!

Juzi waved dismissively, her tone calm yet confident.
"No need. Before the enemy launched their counterattack, Yuhao had already left for the Heavenly Soul Empire. With him there, it's only a matter of time before it falls into our hands. After all, Yuhao has never failed in anything he's set out to do. For now, we just need to focus on holding our ground with Elder Kong."

A booming, authoritative voice resounded from the sky, echoing across the battlefield, shaking the very hearts of the Sun Moon soldiers.
They instinctively looked up and there, bathed in an earthy-yellow aura, hovered a muscular figure with two sharp horns protruding from his forehead.
It was Xuanzi.
The formidable aura of a Rank 98 Super Douluo radiated from him like an unstoppable tide, suffocating the weaker soldiers who struggled to breathe under its weight.
Behind Xuanzi, the Shrek Elders and Star Luo powerhouses hovered in the air, standing as an imposing force.
And though they weren't bloodthirsty like the evil soul masters, they had no qualms about killing if necessary. If the Sun Moon soldiers surrendered, they would be spared but if they resisted, there would be no mercy.
Yet not a single Sun Moon soldier surrendered.
Instead, soul cannons fired and soul ray beams shot forth, a wave of destruction surging toward Xuanzi and his forces.
The sky erupted in a storm of energy blasts, drowning the battlefield in a deadly barrage of soul tool firepower.
"Hmph! Since you refuse to drink the toast, then you'll drink the penalty!" Xuanzi's face darkened, muscles tensing as he prepared to retaliate.
But before he could act, a silver light slithered across the sky like a serpentine flash, then expanded instantly.
A massive silver dome enveloped Xuanzi's entire force.
Almost instantaneously, a silvery-white moon rose into the sky.
Even though the real sun still hung above them, from within the silver domain, it was as if it had been erased from existence like someone had wiped it away with an invisible hand.
In reality, they hadn't been teleported elsewhere they were still in the same location.
But within Kong Deming's domain, they had lost all perception of the outside world.
The Shrek Elders and Star Luo warriors immediately attacked the silver barrier, attempting to break free but not a single strike had any effect.
Every attack seemed to simply disappear into space, as if they had been absorbed into another dimension.
And while they were trapped inside, the Sun Moon Army's soul cannon fire passed through the barrier unhindered, bombarding them mercilessly.
Forced on the defensive, the trapped fighters dodged frantically, unable to determine their exact predicament.
"Kong Deming! It's Kong Deming!"
Xuanzi's expression twisted in horror, his voice trembling with disbelief.
"Isn't he supposed to be in Mingdu, guarding Xu Tianran?! How is he here?!"
The faces of the Shrek Elders and Star Luo powerhouses turned pale.
Up until now, they had never received any solid intelligence on Kong Deming.
But after Xuanzi's failed assassination attempt during the last Continental Tournament, news of his capture by Kong Deming and Huo Yuhao had shaken them all.
Even though Xuanzi had burned his Life Flame in a desperate bid for power momentarily reaching Rank 99 Ultimate Douluo level strength he still lost.
That alone was enough to prove Kong Deming was at least on par with an Ultimate Douluo.
Moreover, as the President of the Sun Moon Soul Engineer Legion, he was without a doubt a Tenth-Level Soul Engineer!
As realization set in, a calm, authoritative voice rang from a nearby mountaintop.
"Xuanzi, we meet again."
A flash of silver light surged.
An elderly figure appeared in the sky, floating effortlessly above the Sun Moon Army.
His silver robes rippled in the wind.
He stood with one hand behind his back, completely at ease as if the combined might of the Shrek Elders and Star Luo warriors posed no threat whatsoever.
It was Kong Deming.
Xuanzi gritted his teeth, his gaze darting around anxiously.
He searched desperately for Huo Yuhao, panic creeping into his heart.
He hadn't forgotten the soul core seal Huo Yuhao had placed within him.
Huo Yuhao had warned him if he so wished, he could detonate Xuanzi's soul core with a single thought.
Now, with Kong Deming standing before him, that same paralyzing fear crept up once more.
As if sensing his thoughts, Kong Deming smiled slightly.
"Relax. The person you fear isn't here."
He paused, then continued, his tone light yet piercing.
"In fact, I should be thanking you, Xuanzi. If not for you leading this force into our trap, I wouldn't have had the chance to eliminate them all at once."
"Once the Sun Moon Empire completes its conquest of the continent, I'll be sure to personally petition His Majesty to reward you for your… 'contributions.'"
At these words, the Shrek Elders and Star Luo warriors recoiled in shock.
They immediately distanced themselves from Xuanzi, their eyes filled with suspicion.
Because, from the Sun Moon Empire's perspective, Xuanzi had indeed played right into their hands.
Realizing their reaction, Xuanzi's face contorted in fury.
"Do you seriously doubt me over some cheap provocation?! Don't be fooled this barrier is a Tenth-Level Soul Tool! If we don't fight our way out, we'll all die here!"
His expression darkened.
"I've fought Kong Deming before. His greatest weapon is spatial manipulation our attacks won't work unless we disrupt the spatial balance."
"Fragment Star Douluo! You and I will break this barrier together!"
