On the afternoon of New Year's Eve, Gu Shiting was busy in the kitchen.
Sheng Tang was beside him, helping to pick and wash the vegetables.
In past years, on New Year's Eve, Grandma and Mom would be busy making a lavish dinner, ending up dirty and exhausted.
This year, they sat on the living room sofa watching TV.
Sheng Zong was curious, occasionally sticking his head into the kitchen for a look, and then reporting back: "Braised fish, smells so good."
"And there are crabs."
"They're making a lamb stew."
Grandma pulled him back: "Take a break, stop running in and out."
She wasn't afraid he'd get tired, but worried he might be annoying.
In the kitchen, Gu Shiting and Sheng Tang occasionally burst into laughter, as if they were having a great time cooking a meal together.
One could even hear Sheng Tang humming.
"They look so perfect together." Grandma softly said to Fang Mengying.
Fang Mengying agreed.
