After midnight, Qing City appeared particularly silent. At the dock, the river water shimmered under the faint light, sometimes undulating, sometimes making a gurgling sound.
A motorboat emitted mechanical noises as it sailed from afar, carving wave after wave on the originally silent river, eventually docking beside a cargo ship.
A few people got off the motorboat, wearing sunglasses. They all looked strong, and the man leading them had a cigarette in his mouth, hands in his pockets, as he disembarked and surveyed the surrounding cargo ships, finally focusing on a medium-sized white cargo ship three ships away from them.
The man discarded the cigarette butt that was almost finished, crushed it with his shoe, then removed his sunglasses, nodding his chin towards the people behind him. The muscular men saw this and started walking toward that cargo ship.
