With the matter of the Rank 0 gu worms and AE-3048-195 dealt with for the time being, Fang Yuan now had to turn his attention towards the rest of his aperture.
First of all, there was the feeding of his gu worms.
Ambition Gu was easily fed by the amount of Human Qi available within his aperture.
The Spring Autumn Cicada had also been fed before he had sealed it away, and though it was beginning to show signs of extreme starvation once more, he would hopefully have a solution for that before too long.
Then there was Beauty Gu. Although it was similarly hibernating, its feeding requirement was high and it had to be fed by this point if he didn't want to lose it. Its food was Thousand Dragon Roses. Thousand Dragon Roses were a difficult to find Wood Type resource and given their scarcity the price fluctuated on Yellow Treasure Heaven greatly.
Fang Yuan, therefore, had to take Ambition Gu and sell large batches of mortal Ambition Gu on Treasure Yellow Heaven in order to find a batch of Thousand Dragon Roses to feed Beauty Gu before sending it back into hibernation.
"Brothers and Sisters, please take a look at this batch of Ambition Gu," Fang Yuan declared on Yellow Treasure Heaven. The usual crowd gathered around him.
Since Fang Yuan called everyone 'brother' and 'sister.' Humans were social creatures and one of the highest rules when it came to society was the nature of reciprocity. If one had done a favor to another person, even if it was an unwanted favor. This was doubly true in Yellow Treasure Heaven. Most people were quite polite and cordial, as befitting of Gu Immortals. People usually called each other 'friend' on Yellow Treasure Heaven. With Fang Yuan's Will identify itself as male and calling everyone 'sister' and 'brother' they responded in kind and without even thinking referred to Fang Yuan as 'brother.'
Such were the rules of etiquette that Fang Yuan was exploiting. None of them thought twice about it, because no information regarding his killer move had yet been leaked.
Fang Yuan coldly chuckled to himself. He was quickly making many brothers and sisters among the Immortals of the gu world. That was very good; even if he couldn't upgrade Bonds Equal to Blood Ties to involve Rank 7 Gu Immortals yet, the time would eventually come. Who knows when these kinds of relationships might be useful in the future?
Despite making a profit, Fang Yuan was not able to find a batch of Thousand Dragon Roses on Yellow Treasure Heaven for a few days until a small group of fifteen thousand were placed for sale. The seller wanted twenty Immortal Essence Stones, an extraordinary sum for resources which might otherwise only go for about four or five. Fang Yuan purchased a batch far more cheaply than this some time ago, but the seller wasn't willing to budge despite how much Fang Yuan tried to haggle. "If you don't want to buy, then just admit you're poor! Unfortunately for you, I don't speak broke!"
Thousand Dragon Roses grew atop a kind of Wood Path Beast Emperor known as the Woodland Dragon. They were vaguely shaped like the dragon's maw upon which they grew upon, hence their names. Woodland Dragons were larger than a modern-day subway train back on Earth, and their backs were covered in these roses much like how hair would grow on a human's head or wool would grow atop a sheep. Out of these roses one in a thousand would be of a larger size and of a richer hue and would be called a Thousand Dragon Rose. These could then be plucked as more roses would eventually grow atop their backs to fill in the empty space.
Woodland Dragon Lords, a type of Desolate Beast, grew Thousand Dragon Roses in greater numbers, but many Wood Path Immortals did not have access to one.
It could easily be said how difficult it was to get a large batch of them from atop a Beast Emperor given their scarcity. Fang Yuan had no other recourse to deal with it. He could try and negotiate with the Southern Border's Paradise Alliance who might have access to Thousand Dragon Roses, but then he would end up inadvertently revealing that he wanted large batches of this resource for a reason. That would be tough to explain as an Emotion Path Cultivator. They may even be able to deduce Beauty Gu's existence.
Compared to that, Yellow Treasure Heaven had the benefit of anonymity.
As for rearing them himself within the Mushroomman Blessed Land he had inherited from Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable, it was currently busy trying to develop Pill Path resources. Not to mention he would first have to pay for the Woodland Dragons themselves before he could harvest them, an upfront investment that would cost him more than it was worth.
Fang Yuan could only sigh and cough up the exorbitant price, gaining 15,000 Thousand Dragon Roses.
Beauty Gu ate ten thousand of them at a time, but Fang Yuan could feed it partially 7,500 Dragon Roses and then send it into hibernation, feeding it at a later date and thereby extending the time period during which he would have to feed it.
Dreams of Love and Happiness was easy to feed, it simply ate happy dreams which were easily satisfied through his Immortal Aperture.
With the matter of feeding his gu worms dealt with, Fang Yuan turned his attention toward the development of the Fang Yuan Continent. He was adopting a very hands-off approach when compared to traditional aperture management, but that was simply the way things were. It was hard for him to intervene without causing a large amount of changes, especially since he had already ended up kidnapping and then enslaving AE-3048-195.
He didn't want to intervene much further in case it damaged the integrity of the Integration Formation too much.
Fang Yuan had already salvaged most of the body parts from the Sonic Pelican and sold them on Treasure Yellow Heaven. The Sound Path Gu worms and materials were of very little use to him; Sound Path was a rather niche path, after all, and not one that he intended to cultivate.
As for the other half of the Earthly Calamity being Golden Shower, it had resulted in a large number of changes on the Fang Yuan Continent.
First of all, the liquid molten metal itself had led to a small number of deaths and the destruction of several villages. Then, it had a number of second-degree and third-degree effects upon the people of the continent. The molten metal seeped into the soil of various places, and although it could be used as a resource and perhaps people on Earth would be happy if this were to happen, the fact of the matter remained that one could not eat gold, no matter how abundant it was.
Some tribes on the continent did trade in precious metals, but compared to them, food was far more valuable. The places where the liquid metal had fallen to the ground no longer grew crops as fertile as they would have otherwise, and where the metal seeped into the water, it quickly became toxic and undrinkable.
Because of this, many people had to migrate away from the areas where the Golden Shower had been the heaviest to other regions, leading to conflict between various human groups. Sometimes the invaders would win, sometimes the defenders would push out their assailants, and at other times there would be something of a stalemate or a trade agreement between the two groups.
It wasn't just gold which had fallen to the continent; the tribulation had added a small number of Metal Path dao marks to his aperture as well. Not to mention, there were still certain areas where the soil had been upturned from Fang Yuan's venture through the Regional Walls. Because of this, the people of the Fang Yuan Continent now had new and easy access to precious metals such as silver and platinum, in addition to more mundane ones like copper and iron. The calamity had dealt losses, but it had also dealt benefits.
