She told me it doesn't matter, but still try and sneak away from the instructor dorms.
Like Swiper, I tiptoe away from her doorstep, yet... something suddenly taps my shoulder.
"Coffin?" The mysterious voice questions.
Letting out a yelp, my blood feels as though its frozen over, that indescribable shiver creeping down my spine as I whip around.
Before me is a green haired women, the inside of her hair is a bright red giving her long hair a watermelon-like appearance. She looks at me with her blood red eyes, they are bright, almost cute. In her hands is what seems to be a jello bunny encased in a plastic container.
I stance up. "Wha- how do you know my name?"
"Because your sister is obsessed with you and I hear your name every night? We've been over this."
"Wait..." My eyes narrow as I look down at the woman. "Are you Echo?"
"yeah?..." she looks down at her relaxed appearance before her eyes widen.
Between her fuzzy pajama pants and her oversized lime green shirt, she looks like a normal college girl.
She blushes before taking a deep breath and facing me once more.
Giving a warm chuckle I scoff. "Sorry, I didn't recognize you with that cute outfit; I was used used to you ghost cosplay."
Her flustered eyes vanish as cold narrow ones take their place. "Don't call an instructor cute, unlike Somnia I have a reputation to uphold."
"Oh, sorry." Trying to move on from my awkward approaches I wave towards the building. "So... do you live here?"
"Unfortunately."
"Huh, Somnia said no one lived next door, she never hears anyone over there."
"I'm an assassin, we aren't exactly elephants in the kitchen."
"Well, she'll be happy to know that its just you. She thought maybe it was haunted because she would occasionally hear singing."
Echo's eyes widen as she turns away. "Yea...that- well- theres no need to tell her. Just- would you two keep it down."
Now my face burns red as I step back, "Wha- I- its not like that at-"
"I don't care what you guys do on your free time. Just tell her to keep her experience to her self." She shakes her head. "I swear, every time I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it feels like I'm getting a round of applause."
I innocently shrug. "Would you believe me if I said we were watching a really good movie?"
She doesn't seem to believe me as she gives me a deadpan stare.
The door creeks opens behind me as Somnia stumbles out in less than appropriate clothing. "Eh? Who are you talking to Coffy-" Her eyes widen as she notices Echo. "I mean, Coffin... my student, what are you doing outside my private domicile? Did you perhaps need help with your elemental fusion?"
Echo crosses her arms. "Theres no need to do your monkey act, I already know."
"Oh." Somnia loses any concern as she leans on me with a yawn. "Then, Coffy, I came out here to ask for two espresso shots in my coffee; one doesn't it cut it with you taking your nihilism out on me. And when you get my donut, ask for sprinkles, they always forget to add em."
Echo and I stand there in a mutual disbelief.
"Aren't you concerned?" I whimper.
"Very! There gonna run out of the good ones, so you better hurry. Echo, do you want my bagel boy to get you anything?"
She turns to me with guilt as she hands me 4 polar. "Well...if your going, I'll take a coffee."
"You heard the boss, two coffees, Coffy."
