Chapter 484 - Chapter 566-570

Chapter 566: The Tenth Level Soul Mentor, Part Four

Xu Tianxing's eyes shone with a glimmer of hope as he believed that his years of effort might have actually held up against the opponent's fierce attack. Yet reality quickly turned to despair. His Star Guardian, containing the culmination of his years of cultivation, began to emit the harsh, shattering sound of breaking.

Crack crack

The noise was piercing, like a countdown to the end of Xu Tianxing's life. He closed his eyes in despair, surrendering to fate.

"Wei'er... Your father did his best..."

Just as he braced for his fate, a golden light suddenly shone through the flashing remnants of his shattered defense.

"Eighth Soul Skill: Dragon God Overlord Body!

Eighth Soul Skill: Holy Dragon Roar!"

The golden light intensified, turning even the daylight itself into a brilliant gold. But it didn't stop there Xu Tianxing was stunned as he watched the powerful silver beam of the Silver Moon Godlight wave get forcibly repelled by another intense wave of holy light. The two energies clashed in the air, each threatening to tear the sky asunder.

Kong Deming knew it was Mu En's doing, yet he was still astounded by the old soul master's terrifying strength. This soul master, bound to the ancient ways, could rely on a single soul skill to counter his most powerful strike, unleashed from a tenth level soul tool.

In the original plan, when Kong Deming unleashed the Silver Moon Godlight wave, he intended to combine it with beams from three hundred eighth level soul mentors, producing an attack of such power that it rivaled a Limit Douluo's strength, nearly reaching divine levels. Yet the battlefield conditions here made this unfeasible, as the slightest hint of this intention would likely be crushed by the absolute might of a Limit Douluo.

Xu Tianxing, meanwhile, could barely believe what he was witnessing as he looked up at Mu En, now fully armored in radiant golden soul armor, resembling a god descending upon the battlefield. His golden armor blazed with a divine aura, intimidating and otherworldly.

Mu En, using the tenth level soul technique with the strength of a hundred thousand year soul ring, was left slightly breathless. He didn't want to repeat this effort, and turned to the group of Star Luo Douluo with a solemn tone.

"This is not your battle to fight. I will need my full strength for what's next, and you'll only be a hindrance here. Take advantage of this pause while they recharge their soul tool energy and head to support the other battlefields."

Though being told they were a burden stung the pride of the assembled Douluo, Xu Tianxing and the others realized the truth: if the opponents had been serious from the start, they would've been annihilated on the first day. Xu Tianxing immediately showed Mu En his gratitude with a respectful bow.

"Thank you, Dragon God Douluo, for saving our lives. We will leave the rest to you. Men, retreat!"

Xu Tianxing, without hesitation, led the Star Luo forces away, seeing the battle had truly escalated beyond what they could handle. Now, the immense battlefield was quiet, leaving only Mu En and the two tenth level soul mentors.

The three stood still, but in the next instant, without a word, they attacked simultaneously with unspoken understanding.

Jing Hongchen resumed his role as a defender, stepping between Mu En and Kong Deming with a thick crimson gold ninth level soul shield raised to absorb Mu En's strike. But now fully unleashed, Mu En's power had grown formidable; a single strike from him left deep claw marks on the solid ninth level shield. With a ferocious kick, he then sent Jing Hongchen flying.

The refined Mu En had now transformed, exuding an unmistakable savagery as he fought. Kong Deming, realizing he was momentarily unprotected, activated his Silver Moon Godlight Barrier, bringing them both into its spatially distorted confines.

Mu En, shielded by his armor and his hundred thousand year boosted physique, shrugged off Kong Deming's spatial tricks and moved straight for his opponent, executing his Sovereign's Might in an attempt to finish him off. This fluid combo of strikes almost flowed seamlessly, but Mu En had underestimated one critical factor.

The space between him and Kong Deming was stretching, placing his target further and further out of reach. His attacks weren't even able to make contact.

"This power feels similar to Ye Wen's spatial technique, but the spatial strength isn't as powerful," he mused.

Having personally experienced the Silver Moon Godlight Barrier's ability, Mu En realized the technique had limitations. The Douluo Continent's space had weakened over the millennia, yet Mu En's Light Holy Dragon, though not a spatial element, had accumulated enough experience and insight for him to roughly manipulate spatial energy.

He couldn't accomplish intricate spatial shifts, but tearing through space? That was within reach.

He channeled a vast amount of soul power into his hands, imbuing his claws with enough destructive energy to tear through anything.

"Sovereign's Might!"

Mu En's mastery unleashed through his claws, and for the first time, the ever calm Kong Deming panicked. He could sense that his precious Silver Moon Godlight Barrier was sustaining damage.

This tenth level soul tool, treated almost like a part of his own being, was already straining under Mu En's power. Hastily, he retracted it, simultaneously removing the spatial effects of the Silver Moon Godlight Barrier.

Though the strike had not completely succeeded, Mu En had learned a valuable insight.

"Regardless, I need to take him out first!"

He discarded all distractions and prepared to strike again, but just then, Jing Hongchen reappeared, proving to be as hard to get rid of as a cockroach.

"Enough of this!" Mu En grumbled to himself, his patience thinning. The endless interference from Jing Hongchen was the final straw.

"If you're so determined to defend him, I'll just kill you first!

Ninth Soul Skill: Holy Dragon Claw with Sovereign's Might!"

Mu En's killing intent reached its peak, and as his ninth soul ring flared, a massive golden dragon claw appeared above, embodying his powerful Sovereign's Might. It seemed to embody a destructive force capable of erasing anything.

"Die!"

The dragon claw descended, making Jing Hongchen's shield look minuscule in comparison.

At the last moment, however, Kong Deming expanded the Silver Moon Godlight Barrier again. Just as it could stretch space and trap objects within an infinite void, it also possessed the ability to shift spatial positioning.

Using the spatial power of the Silver Moon Godlight Barrier, Kong Deming achieved a teleportation effect, even though he had no natural teleportation abilities.

Chapter 567: Tenth Level Soul Mentor, Part Five

The earth trembled with sorrow, and all beings were seized with panic. As Mu En unleashed his ultimate soul skill, augmented by his devastating, self created skill Sovereign's Might, its power soared far beyond that of an ordinary ninth level soul guided bomb.

Dense clouds of dust obscured the battlefield, preventing even Mu En from immediately locating Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen. He narrowed his eyes, scanning the area in search of signs.

"Are they dead?" he wondered. "I didn't sense any counterattack, but something tells me these two pests aren't so easy to kill."

Mu En scanned the area several more times. Thankfully, the damp earth quickly dispersed the dust, revealing the severe scars his attack had inflicted. The previously lush forest was now covered by a massive handprint, the ground depressed by more than ten meters, while five dark fissures extended from the handprint for over a thousand meters.

Yet Mu En wasn't satisfied. "Did they escape? Tch!"

Ending the battle this way was far from satisfying. The life draining toll of combat was becoming frustrating, especially with his enemies having fled beyond his reach.

Mu En sighed, preparing to return himself to a dormant state to preserve what remained of his life force. But at that instant, an instinctive sixth sense jolted him with fear.

"Who ?! Something is targeting me!"

In full alert, Mu En restored his peak form and looked in the direction of the perceived threat. The sensation originated five or six kilometers away; even with his sharp eyes, he could make out only a silver white dot glowing in the distance.

Yet even this limited information was enough for Mu En to identify his adversary.

"Damn it! That's Kong Deming's tenth level soul guided attack! But why does it feel even stronger than before? This power… not even my Holy Dragon Claw and Sovereign's Might combined can stop it. No choice I need to run!"

Mu En displayed his prudence as he unfolded his dragon wings and sought to escape Kong Deming's range.

Kong Deming, meanwhile, was channeling every ounce of his strength into his Silver Moon Godlight Barrier. Although five or six kilometers was far for most, a titled Douluo could cross that distance in just a few breaths. In an instant, Mu En had moved more than ten kilometers away, well beyond Kong Deming's sight.

But despite putting such distance between himself and the blast, Mu En continued accelerating, realizing that the spiritual lock on remained fixed on him.

"How can this be? Even I can't maintain such a long range spiritual lock. How did Kong Deming gain this ability?"

Shock surged through Mu En's mind, leaving no time for further analysis as he frantically beat his wings, seeking more distance.

However, Kong Deming, using himself as an anchor and with the Silver Moon Godlight Barrier guiding him, had aligned the soul energy of three hundred eighth level soul mentors into a single attack. This powerful technique required significant time to charge, making it impractical in standard combat. And during the initial confrontation with Mu En, Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen had lacked the time to set it up.

Only after Mu En's fierce counterattack forced them into hiding were they able to properly prepare their ultimate strike in secret.

"Take this, Mu En! Your era is over!" Kong Deming's heart surged with triumph as he issued the ultimate Silver Moon Godlight Beam.

The resulting beam was blinding; the soul mentors at the scene experienced temporary blindness, and Kong Deming himself shed involuntary tears from the brilliance. Yet his spirit was filled with unparalleled excitement.

The beam sliced through everything in its path mountains, walls, any barrier disintegrated before its devastating power. Moving at near light speed, the Silver Moon Godlight Beam closed the distance in an instant, arriving just behind Mu En.

This was the strongest attack beneath the divine level. In soul guided terms, it could be classified as an eleventh level soul guided weapon. In the original story, only Huo Yuhao could deflect it into the sky with an ice mirror of ultimate ice. But Mu En lacked such an option.

Yet a man who could create a technique like Sovereign's Might was no coward. Facing his fate, Mu En turned resolutely toward his enemy, his eyes blazing.

"Ninth Soul Skill: Holy Dragon Claw combined with Sovereign's Might!"

Escape was impossible, and running was unnecessary. He was born to fight, to go down swinging.

At that moment, Mu En's mind reached a profound clarity; this would be his greatest strike, a culmination of his life's power.

The unbearable heat of the Silver Moon Godlight Beam clashed against Mu En's fierce, unyielding energy, creating a shockwave powerful enough to shatter everything in the vicinity. Yet despite Mu En's mastery, he found himself pushed back step by step, unable to maintain the onslaught.

The Holy Dragon Claw was an explosive attack, but the Silver Moon Godlight Beam was powered by the continuous energy of three hundred eighth level soul mentors, giving it a sustained force that overwhelmed Mu En's defenses. The claw's spectral image finally dissolved.

With nothing left to hold it back, the searing Silver Moon Godlight Beam struck Mu En head on. His sacred armor began to disintegrate, his skin burning and peeling under the fierce energy.

But Mu En's eyes remained calm as he began to reminisce about his glorious life, the friends and battles he had seen. His thoughts finally settled on a gentle face.

"It seems this is the end. I'm sorry, Xiyue. If there is a next life, may you be free of someone like me."

Whispering his farewell, Mu En accepted his fate, prepared to return to dust. But then, unexpectedly, he felt himself fall to the ground, the relentless burning on his body ceasing.

"What's going on?"

Mu En was perplexed. The attack hadn't exhausted its energy; why had it suddenly stopped?

He wanted to see what had happened, but his vision was gone the burning had left him blind. With his strength as a titled Douluo, he strained to sense his surroundings through spiritual power.

A towering figure was now standing before him.

Chapter 568: Tenth Level Soul Mentor, Part Six

In that instant, Mu En let out a peaceful smile. Despite his body being severely burned and his arms reduced to charred remains, his expression was filled with satisfaction.

"You did it, Xuan Zi," he murmured.

The newcomer was none other than Xuan Zi, who had finally broken through his past limitations and reached the peak of the Douluo Continent, achieving the level of an Ultimate Douluo.

Once carefree, Xuan Zi now looked somber, his large tears spilling over as he knelt by Mu En's side.

"I'm sorry, Elder Xuan. I came too late," he said, grief stricken.

Mu En smiled, wanting to comfort him with a pat, but he realized he no longer had his arms. He tried to speak, but found his voice damaged from the intense blast. Yet even so, he rasped out one last message.

"Shrek… is in your hands now," he said. And with those words, Mu En's life flickered out. In his final act, he transmitted all the knowledge he'd gained about fighting against the tenth level soul mentors to Xuan Zi. This was his last contribution as the Sea God Pavilion Master.

Xuan Zi paused, taking in the information. His restrained tears finally burst free, cascading down his face in deep sorrow.

"Elder Mu…"

After a moment of grieving, Xuan Zi knew he couldn't linger. His respect for Mu En's final instructions demanded he act. Gently securing Mu En's remains within a soul guiding storage device, Xuan Zi stood, an immense killing intent radiating from him.

"Sun and Moon " he muttered, grinding his teeth. In a flash, he disappeared, racing toward Kong Deming.

At that moment, Kong Deming was filled with concern. The eighth level soul mentors who'd served as energy cells for his ultimate attack had fled, dispersing to avoid annihilation. When Xuan Zi saved Mu En, Kong Deming knew trouble was on its way.

Unlike Mu En, who wielded light energy, Xuan Zi's power combined earth and spatial attributes a gift of the Taotie bloodline. It was this ability that allowed him to extract Mu En from the attack in an instant.

Though Xuan Zi arrived too late to save Mu En's life, his timely entry into the battle had disrupted their plans in a way that spelled trouble.

"Jing Hongchen, Xuan Zi is coming," Kong Deming said. "It appears he's reached rank 99. Otherwise, he couldn't have intercepted the Silver Moon Godlight Beam. We're not afraid of him, but his powers counter ours, so let's not waste energy trying to kill him. We'll stick to the strategy: stall him here to cover everyone's retreat."

Jing Hongchen nodded. While his Hongchen Golden Toad Armor was a tenth level soul guided device, its functionality was straightforward, and he knew Xuan Zi's spatial abilities would be difficult to manage, especially with his formidable earth based defenses. This was not a foe they could easily overcome.

In the blink of an eye, Xuan Zi, horns gleaming, appeared before them.

"Die!" he roared.

Xuan Zi didn't waste time with complex soul techniques; a single punch was all it took to send Jing Hongchen, who wielded a tenth level soul guided shield, flying backward. At Xuan Zi's level, even the simplest movements were imbued with the force of soul skills.

Kong Deming retaliated with a regular Silver Moon Godlight Beam. Xuan Zi snorted, summoning an earthen shield to his side. Though the beam penetrated it, he used the brief moment to close the distance between himself and Kong Deming.

Xuan Zi swung his fist with full force only to pass through an empty image. Realizing too late it was a mere projection, Xuan Zi was immediately struck by a massive silver moon, which forced him to the ground.

As a tenth level soul mentor at rank 94, Kong Deming knew his weakness in close combat. But with a mix of illusions and reality, he managed to keep Xuan Zi at bay. He had avoided these tactics against Mu En, knowing that Mu En would see through them.

But this quick exchange allowed Kong Deming to confirm something.

"Xuan Zi must have just reached rank 99," he thought. "His spiritual power isn't as sharp as Mu En's, so he couldn't see through my ninth level projection device."

Still, he did not underestimate Xuan Zi. He knew these tricks wouldn't work for long. But it was evident Xuan Zi was far harder to deal with than Mu En had been.

At that moment, Xuan Zi's nine soul rings flared up, grounded by one hundred thousand year soul ring, with the others appearing in a standard configuration. But despite their appearance, Kong Deming knew not to take Xuan Zi lightly.

Xuan Zi stood firmly, channeling his power through the earth beneath him. His right hand gathered energy, forming a dense, yellow brown sphere. Strange, geometric patterns floated on its surface, each part glistening with mystical light, with some resembling flowing waves.

The very earth seemed to resonate with Xuan Zi's power.

Though Xuan Zi didn't possess Mu En's self created technique, Sovereign's Might, he did wield a unique talent granted by his martial spirit. The Taotie God Bull might not be a pure Taotie, but it was a martial spirit of Dragon King level strength.

As he unlocked the true potential of his spirit, Xuan Zi gained full mastery over earth reaching the Elemental Extremity of Earth.

Jing Hongchen staggered back to Kong Deming's side, his ninth level shield now completely destroyed by Mu En's assault. But Sun and Moon Empire's wealth was vast, and he had multiple replacements prepared.

Staring at Xuan Zi, Jing Hongchen frowned, "Why does he feel tougher than Mu En, even though he's not as strong?"

Before Kong Deming could respond, Xuan Zi clenched his hand into a fist. A massive gravitational force slammed into both Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen, pinning them to the ground with immense pressure.

Fortunately, Kong Deming's Silver Moon martial spirit was not just for show. As a celestial martial spirit, it granted him control over tides and gravitational forces. He managed to mitigate Xuan Zi's soul skill somewhat.

But gradually, Kong Deming noticed his resistance weakening.

"Your martial spirit is terrifying… a suppression of natural law, perhaps?"

Chapter 569: Tenth Level Soul Mentor, Part Seven

Although Xuan Zi wasn't quite on Mu En's level, his unique martial spirit allowed him to hold his own against Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen. However, in the end, Xuan Zi was forced to retreat.

Due to the soul armor technology Ye Wen had shared, while it hadn't directly increased Sun Moon Empire's raw power, it had led to innovations like the development of bottle like soul devices to replenish soul power. Though still in the early stages, Sun Moon Empire's team of ninth level soul mentors managed to create ten high level "bottles," which allowed Kong Deming and his allies to sustain their power during battle.

Watching Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen heal themselves as they fought, Xuan Zi was enraged yet helpless. He could only vent his frustration in an anguished roar and retreat in defeat.

Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen didn't pursue him; they knew better than to back a cornered Ultimate Douluo into close range.

Xuan Zi returned to the Xingluo military camp, his soul power fluctuations intimidating everyone present, including Xu Tianxing. Although his defeat stung, Xuan Zi, as the new Sea God Pavilion Master, had matured and wasn't acting recklessly.

Since Mu En had initiated a shift toward building a soul guidance department at Shrek Academy, Xuan Zi had familiarized himself with various types of soul guiding devices, including the power replenishing "bottles." Xuan Zi realized their potential impact on the future of Douluo Continent. However, he had rushed to the frontlines immediately upon exiting seclusion and was not fully briefed on the current situation.

Setting aside pride, Xuan Zi directly asked Xu Tianxing for details about these devices.

Xu Tianxing looked puzzled. "A soul device like that in Sun Moon Empire? We never saw them use such technology while we were stalling them," he replied, then paused, a thought occurring to him. "Oh, I see now!"

Initially skeptical, Xuan Zi perked up, sensing an opportunity. "What do you mean? Do you know something about this?"

Despite the strain between Shrek Academy and Xingluo, Xu Tianxing had no reason to withhold vital information from a powerful ally. He explained how Ye Wen had shared soul armor technology across the continent, which likely allowed Sun Moon Empire to develop this new soul device.

Xuan Zi, already biased against Tianxing Academy, erupted. "That Tianxing Douluo! This is madness! He's aiding the enemy. Does he think he's some 'patriotic traitor' of Douluo?!"

The Douluo present refrained from commenting, knowing the tension between Shrek and Tianxing Academy. Besides, they held respect for Ye Wen. While his technology could potentially leak to Sun Moon Empire, he had shared it with Douluo's nations, giving them a chance to advance too.

Xuan Zi's frustration simmered as he saw no easy solution to match Sun Moon's innovative tools. He asked Xu Tianxing, "Can Xingluo Empire manufacture anything like this?"

Xu Tianxing shook his head firmly. "Xuan Zi, you know our soul guiding technology lags far behind. We can barely make standard eighth level devices, let alone such high level soul power restoration tools."

Xuan Zi's expression turned sheepish, momentarily forgetting Shrek was the intellectual leader of the continent. But the problem remained: he and his opponents were nearly evenly matched in strength, and their ability to recover mid battle gave them an enormous advantage.

"Then I have no choice," Xuan Zi concluded, "but to return to Shrek. If our researchers can replicate this device, we might have a fighting chance. Otherwise, I can't outlast them in a prolonged fight. Farewell for now."

Xuan Zi turned to leave. However, Xu Tianxing couldn't let such a powerful asset go so easily. He quickly grabbed Xuan Zi's arm, pleading, "Don't go, please! Without you here, we won't be able to withstand their offensive. This battlefield needs you, Xuan Zi!"

Xuan Zi sighed heavily, trying to shake off the desperate man. But thoughts of Mu En's death and Ye Wen's "assistance" to the Sun Moon Empire stoked his anger anew. He shouted, "I already told you, I can't beat them as I am. And it's because Ye Wen gave them his so called soul armor technology! If this is his mess, then let him come and clean it up himself!"

The Douluo present held great respect for Ye Wen, whose neutral stance had kept him from stirring up trouble. And the fact was, his technology would have inevitably spread to Sun Moon Empire eventually. No one had expected they'd create something as strategic as ninth level soul power replenishment devices. Ultimately, it wasn't Ye Wen's fault.

Xu Tianxing explained that Tianxing Academy's neutrality didn't mean indifference, as they had already sent reinforcements to defend Douluo's interests. But Xuan Zi was even more infuriated by this explanation.

"So Shrek sheds blood, loses its Pavilion Master, and receives no gratitude? But this neutral, aloof academy gets praised for their so called magnanimity," he muttered, his face flushed with frustration. Having no choice, Xuan Zi reluctantly agreed to stay, though feeling trapped by his situation.

Realizing the urgency, he quickly sent a message back to Shrek Academy, urging them to expedite development of the bottle like device. Otherwise, he feared that Douluo might eventually lose this war.

While Xuan Zi had saved Mu En by pulling him from Kong Deming's most powerful attack, he knew the technique couldn't be underestimated.

Even Xuan Zi admitted that if he faced this attack directly, he might meet a fate even worse than Mu En's obliterated instantly.

With Mu En's final words, Xuan Zi was aware of the limitations of Kong Deming's terrifying strike.

Chapter 570: Tenth Level Soul Mentor, Part Eight

During the ensuing battles, Xuan Zi continued struggling against Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen, his interference preventing their soul mentor battalions from effectively aiding them in combat. Meanwhile, Shrek Academy promptly received Xuan Zi's message and began research on the energy storing "bottles."

With Sun Moon Empire's version serving as a model, replicating the bottle wasn't challenging. However, Shrek's current technology limited them to eighth level versions at most, offering Xuan Zi little aid. A breakthrough to ninth level soul mentorship wasn't something that Shrek's eight level mentors could simply will into existence; it required extensive knowledge and resources, which Shrek currently lacked.

Shrek's top leaders recognized that their strongest combatant was locked in an attritional battle on the Xingluo front lines, where the enemy could eventually exhaust him. This realization led them to make a choice that defied their founding traditions. They sent Martial God Douluo Xian Lin'er to Tianxing Academy, where she knelt before Ye Wen, pressing her forehead to the ground.

"Please, Master Ye, help us at Shrek!" she implored.

Ye Wen, who had been idly watching the proceedings, was taken aback, staring in shock at Xian Lin'er. "What's wrong?" he asked.

Xian Lin'er quickly explained Shrek's dire situation and requested that Ye Wen craft a batch of ninth level soul power storage devices, the bottles, to aid Xuan Zi.

From Xian Lin'er's perspective, Ye Wen, who had spread soul armor technology across the continent, would have the most expertise on the subject. She believed that with some modifications and Shrek's current findings, he could likely produce ninth level bottles relatively easily. Although relations between the two academies had been strained, Xian Lin'er was confident that Ye Wen would help for the greater good. After all, she had humbled herself before him; surely, he wouldn't turn his back on Douluo Continent in its hour of need?

True to her hopes, Ye Wen waved a hand to lift Xian Lin'er to her feet and agreed. However, he added, "I'll help, but you know my Tianxing Academy is neutral, so…"

Seeing his contemplative expression, Xian Lin'er pressed urgently, "So what, Lord Tianxing?"

Ye Wen rubbed his fingers together, thumb and forefinger. "It'll cost you."

At that moment, Xian Lin'er's lofty view of him as a principled fighter for justice shattered. She gritted her teeth and replied, "No problem. We'll pay double the market price for each ninth level soul power storage device."

Satisfied, Ye Wen nodded. Taking the schematics Xian Lin'er had brought for first through eighth level bottles, he examined them for a moment, then, to Xian Lin'er's amazement, started assembling the ninth level bottles with skillful ease.

At first, she suspected he might be putting on a show, but when she infused one of the finished bottles with her own soul power and felt it converted into pure, neutral energy, she was in awe.

"Is he a tenth level soul mentor too? Incredible…" she wondered, briefly tempted to take him as her master. Yet, as the head of Shrek's soul guidance division, joining another academy was impossible. Still, she left Tianxing Academy with a sense of pride and hope.

Ye Wen produced ten ninth level bottles for her, using the last of the rare metals he had in stock. He checked his inventory and stated, "Currently, ninth level soul devices average ten million apiece on the market, and since these energy storage devices are unique, I would typically charge extra. However, since Shrek already owes me, I'll go with the base rate ten million each. As you said, double that for a total of twenty million gold soul coins."

Appearing fatigued, Ye Wen departed. Xian Lin'er, far from angered, was relieved; he had accepted only the lowest possible rate. Good ninth level soul devices generally fetched twice as much, and strategic items like these ninth level bottles would be worth even more. The price of two hundred million, though steep, was something Shrek could handle even if their finances were strained during the war.

With the ten bottles in hand, Xuan Zi doubled his offensive, seeking revenge. Kong Deming immediately noticed Xuan Zi's bottles, recognizing them as ninth level creations, which struck him as odd. He had assumed Douluo Continent lacked ninth level soul mentors. Soon enough, he realized the devices were likely of Ye Wen's design.

To confirm, he had his spies investigate. Learning that Shrek had bought the devices from Ye Wen put him at ease; he feared Ye Wen might join the war, which would pose a serious problem. This information spread to Xingluo and Heavenly Soul Empires, and Ye Wen's reputation surged further Douluo Continent now had its own ninth level soul mentor.

The downside for Ye Wen was the flood of materials and requests for ninth level bottles from the empires, which taxed his resources. Although Shrek had the ninth level schematics from Xian Lin'er, the precise inscription of the array was beyond her current skills.

Meanwhile, after nearly two days of intense battles, the Heavenly Soul Empire's front lines also reached a stalemate. The Dragon Emperor Douluo, though powerful, found himself restrained by Xiao Ding's mastery over gravity and his extreme defense. Unable to leverage his darkness powers effectively, the Dragon Emperor Douluo retreated in disgrace, with multiple fractured bones.
