**JACOB**
"Are you ready to make your order now?"
"Just a few more minutes."
"Of course, I'll just come back in another couple of minutes... (again)." Jacob mutters as he begins to stride away.
"Oh! Could we please have another bottle of sparkling water?"
Fulling turning around, "I'll bring that right out." he replies, gripping the notepad tightly.
"Where's the sparkling water?"
"Here." a co-worker - Jessica? - says handing over a bottle, as Jacob puts his notepad down to take it.
"Here's the sparkling water."
"Thank you, we're ready to order now, I'll take... ... and, what are you guys having?"
"I'll have ..."
"I'll have ..."
"I'll have ..."
"I'll have ..."
"I'll have ..."
He heads back to the kitchen to give the order and wait on the cooking.
"Oh, excuse me, sorry, I wanted this with a side of salad, not fries."
"Ah, I'm so sorry miss, I'll get you the salad."
He heads back to the kitchen to give another order and wait on the salad.
"We're ready to pay!"
"Okay, Emily, I owe you one for last week so I'll pay for yours."
"The rest of us are paying separately."
"Oh, but Charlotte, I bought you those earrings when you forgot your wallet earlier."
"I'm a bit short on cash guys."
"I'll-"
"How about I'll come back in a few minutes?" Jacob interjects.
One of the girls shoots him a look then turns back to the rest of the table; "I'll pay for Emily's, Charlotte, you pay for yours and Zoe's..."
"I don't know who ordered what." Jacob sighs.
"Well, I don't know what to tell you - just guess and apologise if you get it wrong."
"I hate these people so much."
"Why on earth are you working as a server at a restaurant if you can't even handle this, I mean, you've been working here for 3 weeks and the only times I haven't heard you complain is when I took your shift."
"Man, you don't get it Jessica."
"If you haven't noticed, we have the same job."
"UGH"
"Well you don't have to be so offended. Oh, Jacob, go get some more cups from the store room."
He continued to groan and quitely murmur his never-ending complaints as he trudges past and a minute later hands a stack of cups to Jessica.
"Thanks."
"It's 10pm, bye." Jacob says as the second hand reaches 10.
"See ya' later." Jessica says, grabbing her coat.
"I don't have my jacket." Jacob realises out loud, waiting at a bus stop where all the buses listed had left an hour prior, as rain pours down.
"Do you want an umbrella?" a man with his hood up says, closing a wet, lilac, umbrella and handing it over.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I have my jacket." he responds.
"Thanks." Jacob responds, gritting his teeth and reluctantly taking the umbrella. The man nods and walks back out, holding his hood down over his eyes to cover from the rain.
**DIEGO**
"I'm back."
"You're late!" Daniela calls out from the other room, hurring to the entrance, "And wet."
"Very wet."
"Did you get my umbrella?"
"Yes and no."
Daniela lets out a sigh.
"Hey, it's not my fault," Diego starts.
"It's fine, I'll get one from lost and found at school tomorrow."
"Sorry."
"So, do you have any assignments to do?" she asks, swiftly ignoring his apology.
"Yeah, but I have time tomorrow to do them at the library."
"Mkay, cool, I'm going to bed now."
"Yeah, good night."
"Good night."
