Goenitz quickly left Bison's territory and soon returned to Japan.
The moment he arrived, he casually dumped Cammy onto a random street before leaving.
The only reason he had said those things to Bison was to make sure that Bison would thoroughly offend Ryuji. Based on everything he had learned about him, Ryuji would never allow Cammy to continue living under Bison's mental control.
Because Ryuji's very possessive, that was the conclusion Goenitz had reached after conducting his investigation.
"Although, I remember those two from the Three Sacred Treasures families..."
Flying through the sky, Goenitz considered whether he should kidnap the girlfriends of Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami, then deliver them to Ryuji. That way, Kyo and Iori would be forced into conflict with Ryuji, causing the fighters to turn against one another.
But after recalling that Ryuji had never laid a finger on respectable women, he abandoned the idea.
Doing something like that wouldn't burden his conscience in the slightest.
After all, everything was for the resurrection of his god, Orochi. Even sacrificing his own soul meant nothing to him.
It was simply too inefficient.
There was a very real possibility that Kyo and Iori would instead join forces with Ryuji, perhaps even pushing themselves to master their clans' secret techniques ahead of time and awaken the Three Sacred Treasures' divine arts earlier than they otherwise would have.
"So it's better to forget about it."
His figure quickly disappeared into the sky, heading off to find Rugal.
Watching Goenitz vanish into the distance, Cammy silently activated her communicator to receive Bison's new orders.
She quickly learned her new mission.
"...Gather intelligence before killing him. Understood."
With that, Cammy immediately headed toward one of Shadaloo's safe houses to receive funds and supplies before making her way to Ryuji's location as quickly as possible.
However, just a few minutes before she landed, a female police officer who had just finished another exhausting assignment walked out of a café.
"What a tiring job... It's only been a few days, and I've already been sent to several different countries..."
Stretching lazily, Chun-Li couldn't help complaining.
The past few days had been filled with one case after another, with wanted criminals appearing everywhere, forcing her to work overtime. She hadn't even had the time to continue searching for M. Bison.
"It can't be helped. Who knows what's going on with DOATEC? They suddenly started a civil war against themselves, and now Douglas wants to hold some World Martial Arts Tournament. Mercenaries from all over the world have been flooding in, trying to figure out why DOATEC split apart."
Chun-Li's colleague grumbled. Normally he would have enjoyed the sight of Chun-Li stretching, but after being worked to the bone, he honestly didn't have the energy to appreciate it.
"Seriously, can't these people just settle down for once? I've got my own business to deal with."
Thinking back to the information she'd obtained from her father or from Ryuji's puppet, Chun-Li couldn't help letting out a sigh.
Interpol itself actually wasn't all that busy. The main reason was that she was one of the organization's rare elite fighters, the kind who could dodge bullets and even rockets.
As a result, nearly every dangerous arrest operation ended up being assigned to her.
That's why she was so busy.
So, even though she had finally obtained clues about Bison's whereabouts, she still couldn't spare the time to pursue them, which really frustrated her.
Her colleague stretched as well, finding it rather surprising that even this legendary Interpol officer complained about not having time to rest.
"Didn't you get two days off this time?"
Chun-Li rolled her eyes at him.
"What can I possibly accomplish in two days...?"
She really wanted to quit.
But the problem was that if she wanted to capture Bison, having Interpol's authority made things far easier.
When investigating certain matters, that badge also allowed her to avoid breaking the law and causing a whole series of unnecessary incidents.
But that was also exactly what troubled her. Life as an Interpol officer meant she could never devote herself entirely to her own investigation.
Still, this was the job she had chosen. She had to follow orders and complete the missions assigned to her.
Besides, she had no intention of letting criminals go unpunished.
"I just wish one of Bison's people or at least some useful lead would literally fall from the sky right in front of me."
The moment Chun-Li finished speaking, she watched Cammy drop down from the sky.
She froze for an moment.
Then she spotted the unmistakable Shadaloo symbol on Cammy's clothes.
After another brief pause, she calmly acted as if nothing had happened, continuing to chat with her colleague while secretly observing Cammy. Once Cammy finished exchanging a few words with a Shadaloo contact and walked away, Chun-Li immediately stuffed all the case files and documents she had been carrying into her colleague's arms.
"I've got something to take care of, so I'll leave the report to you! I'll treat you to dinner later!"
Without the slightest hesitation, she chased after Cammy. Her colleague blinked in confusion, watched Chun-Li's retreating figure, sighed softly, and gathered up the pile of documents she had abandoned.
"Really..."
Chun-Li knew her behavior was a bit excessive. But right now, she was more concerned about the blonde girl with the twin ponytails in front of her.
If she remembered correctly, Bison had an elite group of female assassins called the Dolls. And this girl gave her a strong sense of pressure, making Chun-Li pay special attention to her.
"You don't run into someone this strong every day."
Using her expert counter-surveillance techniques and her ability to completely conceal her inner energy, Chun-Li quickly caught up to Cammy. Cammy was also quite alert and soon realized she was being followed.
She hesitated for a moment. Normally, she would lure anyone following her to an isolated location and then kill them and dispose of the body.
But this time was different.
Her current role was that of one of Ryuji's admirers. She needed to gather intelligence on him before she can kill him.
Under those circumstances, creating unnecessary complications wasn't a wise choice. Besides, anyone capable of following her this far certainly wasn't weak.
Just as Chun-Li could sense Cammy's formidable strength, Cammy could also feel the sense of threat emanating from Chun-Li.
After all, their abilities were currently more or less on the same level.
"Then I'll ignore her."
After changing into a set of casual clothes to conceal the Shadaloo uniform underneath, which resembled a gymnast's leotard, Cammy quickly made her decision and boarded a train heading toward the Shiranui-ryu dojo.
