The nursery in Lin's luxurious beach villa was bathed in soft morning light filtering through large windows overlooking the ocean.
Gentle waves could be heard in the distance, but inside the room, the tension was thick. The changing table had become a high-stakes tactical zone.
A digital timer on the dresser blinked ominously: 00:47… 00:46… 00:45…

Fresh from handing an ass-whooping to the Cavs, Lin Yi — the two-time NBA champion, King of New York — stood solemn in full gear: white face mask pulled over his nose and mouth, white medical gloves on his hands. His eyes were locked in with laser focus.
Beside him, a red Siberian Husky with a white Knicks' bandana collar sat at attention like a loyal soldier. Perched on the dog's broad back was a plump hamster watching the mission with utmost seriousness.
Elizabeth stood ready as his assistant. Their newborn daughter, Olivia, lay on the changing table, kicking her tiny legs innocently.
Lin Yi (voice low and steady):
"Talk to me, Elizabeth. What are we dealing with?"
Elizabeth (calm and professional):
"Code Brown, level four. Forty-five seconds, babe. Stay sharp."
Beep… Beep… Beep…
Lin Yi nodded. Elizabeth handed him the first tool.
Elizabeth:
"Wet wipes."
He accepted them with surgical precision. Gently lifting Olivia's legs, he peeled open the diaper. Instantly, his face twisted behind the mask.
Lin Yi (grimacing hard):
"Oof… what a stinker!"
Elizabeth bit back a laugh. The Husky's ears flattened. The hamster recoiled.
Lin Yi powered through, wiping thoroughly with clean, precise strokes.
Lin Yi (focused):
"Disposal bag. Now."
Elizabeth quickly passed him a plastic disposal bag. Lin Yi neatly folded the dirty diaper inside, tied the bag tightly with a knot, and dropped it into the bin beside the table without missing a beat.
Lin Yi:
"Target contained."
Beep… Beep… Beep…
Elizabeth:
"Powder up."
He shook the baby powder with perfect control, then took the fresh diaper Elizabeth slapped into his gloved hand. In one smooth motion, he slid it under, fastened the tabs with expert speed, and sealed the mission.
Beep… Beep…
Lin Yi (triumphant):
"Target neutralized."
Elizabeth slammed the timer.
Elizabeth (grinning):
"Twenty-eight seconds! New record, baby! That's my husband!"
Lin Yi pulled his mask down, revealing a proud but slightly traumatized smile. He then disposed of his mask and gloves in the bin before lifting Olivia gently.
Cradling her against his chest, Lin kissed her forehead.
Lin Yi (softly):
"Daddy's got you, princess. Always."
Elizabeth handed him the warmed bottle of pumped breast milk. Olivia latched on happily while Lin Yi rocked her. She drank contentedly, her tiny fingers wrapped around his thumb.
Sakazuki, the big red Husky, let out a satisfied huff, and Mr. Wiggles squeaked in victory.
After rocking Olivia for a bit, he settled into a large, comfortable couch by the nursery window.
Lin Yi looked at Elizabeth, both of them laughing quietly.
Lin Yi:
"Two championship NBA Finals… and changing this little girl still feels like the hardest mission of my life."
Elizabeth smiled softly and slid onto one of his strong thighs, curling comfortably into his broad chest. Lin wrapped his feeding hand around Liz, bringing her closer. She rested her head on his shoulder, watching them with warm eyes.
Elizabeth (softly):
"I expected you to be a good father, but you've blown my expectations away. Men are normally iffy about diaper change."
Lin Yi stayed quiet for a moment, simply rocking them gently as Olivia fed.
Lin Yi (voice low and jokingly):
"I'm hurt. You know I was raised in an Asian home, right? We take family very seriously."
Elizabeth let out a quiet laugh and nuzzled closer, her fingers tracing lightly along his jaw.
Elizabeth (sultry whisper): "Mmm… that's what I also find sexy about you."
She tilted her face up toward him. Lin Yi leaned down, careful not to disturb Olivia, and their lips pressed together. Their mouths opened with their tongues gliding together in a lingering exploration of intimacy.
But Olivia had other ideas as her tiny hand reached up, patting and grabbing at Lin Yi's chest and neck, demanding attention. She pulled away from the bottle just enough to stare directly at her parents with big, disapproving eyes — clearly not a fan of being sidelined during her feeding time.
They broke the kiss, both of them turning to look at their daughter. Olivia continued staring, her little face scrunched up in obvious protest.
Elizabeth laughed softly and adjusted the bottle, helping Olivia latch again.
Lin Yi (grinning, teasing):
"Looks like you have competition now."
Elizabeth burst into laughter, burying her face in his neck while still holding Olivia steady.
Elizabeth:
"Oh no… my own daughter coming for my man already? I see how it is."
Lin Yi chuckled, kissing the top of Elizabeth's head and then Olivia's soft hair.
Lin Yi (quietly, full of love):
"Best competition in the world."
Right on cue, Sakazuki suddenly jumped up with surprising grace, landing right between Lin Yi's thighs and squeezing himself onto the couch. He tried to wedge his big furry body between Elizabeth and Olivia, tail wagging excitedly.
Perched securely on Sakazuki's back, Mr. Wiggles the hamster stood on his hind legs, squeaking and reaching his tiny paws toward the family as if refusing to be left out of the family cuddle.
Lin Yi chuckled deeply, one arm still securely holding Olivia while his free hand scratched behind Sakazuki's ears.
Lin Yi (laughing):
"It looks like Sakazuki and Mr. Wiggles don't want to be left out either."
Elizabeth giggled, shifting slightly to make room for the big dog while keeping Olivia safe.
Elizabeth: "Oh my God, our whole crazy crew is in on this now."
The couch seat settled deeper under the growing pile of love — Lin Yi, Elizabeth, Olivia, Sakazuki, and Mr. Wiggles all squeezed together. Gentle ocean waves provided the perfect soundtrack as the little family (plus two furry members) basked in nature's bounty.
