Marsha's body lay on the floor behind the desk. Some of the blood had begun to dry, but the room hadn't developed an unpleasant smell. From Max's experience, she couldn't have been dead long.
Most likely, she had died that day. Otherwise, surely someone would have discovered her or reported that something was wrong.
"We've literally reached a dead end in our investigation," Max said.
"Should I call the staff or the police?" Aaron asked.
"Call our detective friend. We don't know how much influence the people behind this have. They could have people inside the company working for them, or even members of the police."
Max looked towards Aaron.
"Marvin is difficult because he's good at his job, but that also means he won't be easily swayed, so I should thank him for that."
