The sound of a sword being grabbed echoed through the region, and a wave of silence suddenly passed over the mercenaries drinking around the dirty tavern! Tayrian shifted his gaze towards Valeria, and he saw that her left hand was now resting on her sword hilt, and she was giving him a hard look. What Tayrian was doing right now was a serious breach in the mercenary code. By trying to take Valeria's customer away right in front of her, Tayrian would not have anything to complain about if Valeria attacked him right now!
The other members of the Vipers all put their hands on their weapons as well when they saw Valeria getting ready for an attack, but Tayrian put his hands up and stepped back with a laugh before telling everyone to calm down.
"Now, now, I was just playing. I didn't think you'd take it so seriously, Valeria. And you three, put your weapons away. Do you really want to start a fight with Valeria of all people? You want to die?"
