Gabriel slowly raised his head and looked toward the deeper regions of the wilderness, where mist still hung over broken stone and distant ridges.
His eyes grew distant.
"First, I'll fulfill the promise I made to him. We would head to the alveron range I'll settle those eggs somewhere safe. Then..We continue deeper into the wilderness."
He paused, letting his gaze drift toward the mountain line on the horizon the direction he had been traveling before the ant tide found them in the rain.
By chance he was pretty familiar with this place and if he took the west they would be in the ruins in few hours.
"Common, let's go." Gabriel gestured
Sophie nodded gently. She asked no further questions and silently fell in behind him.
Before long, the two figures moved beyond the edge of the ruined field, leaving the bloody battle field.
