Simultaneously, Sceptile's height increased significantly from approximately 3.3 meters to about 3.7 meters. Its size, strength, and speed all received comprehensive enhancements, and the blade-like appendages on its wrists became noticeably sharper and more pointed.
Its emerald green coloration and imposing size added an air of mystery, but Mega Sceptile's most remarkable change was its tail.
The originally lengthy tail became even larger and more streamlined, particularly the pointed tip, which could detach during battle and strike enemies like a guided missile!

Ariana stood on the battlefield with a deeply furrowed brow. Dealing with one Mega Charizard Y had already proven incredibly challenging; without Gyarados's type advantage, she would have been swept three-to-nothing and eliminated from the tournament.
Now, facing the addition of a Mega Sceptile, what resources did she have left to mount an effective defense? She was acutely aware that this particular Sceptile had mastered the Thunder Punch.
Gyarados, suffering from a devastating four-times weakness to Electric-type attacks, would find itself at an absolute disadvantage against a Sceptile capable of using Thunder Punch. At this critical moment, Ariana's confidence in achieving victory began to falter significantly.
What kind of mysterious item was Jacob using?
How could it enable both Charizard and Sceptile to undergo additional Evolution?!
"Gyarados, use Bounce!" Ariana shook her head vigorously, forcing herself to abandon these distracting thoughts, and spoke through clenched teeth.
Even though her confidence had begun to waver, Ariana refused to surrender. Even if only the slimmest possibility of victory remained, she would continue fighting with every ounce of her strength.
"Roar!"
Confronting the newly Evolved Sceptile, Gyarados displayed no signs of fear; indeed, Pokémon like Gyarados possessed an inherently fearless nature.
Gyarados released a thunderous roar, its serpentine body launching into the air, coiling and accumulating power while suspended in mid-flight.
Observing Gyarados leap skyward to gather momentum, Jacob decisively commanded Sceptile to capitalize on this opportunity by using Swords Dance to enhance its offensive capabilities: "Sceptile, use Swords Dance!"
"Roar!"
As Sceptile completed its Swords Dance routine, Gyarados suddenly descended from above, releasing a tremendous roar while enveloped in Flying-type energy, striking toward Sceptile with the force of a falling meteorite.
"Sceptile, Thunder Punch!"
Just because Charizard lacked knowledge of Thunder Punch didn't mean Sceptile shared that limitation. Electric-type energy began gathering rapidly, lightning crackling visibly, and within moments, Sceptile's fist became completely enveloped in massive amounts of Electric-type energy. It then unleashed a full-powered punch, colliding violently with the descending Gyarados.
"Boom!"
During this collision, it became clearly evident that Mega Sceptile's strength had increased dramatically following Mega Evolution, and its physical attack power had reached terrifying levels after executing one Swords Dance.
Flying-type energy clashed against Electric-type energy as fist met body. Both combatants committed everything they possessed, holding absolutely nothing in reserve.
This time, Sceptile's power clearly exceeded that of Gyarados, particularly since Sceptile had also benefited from the Swords Dance technique!
Electrical current spread from Sceptile's fist throughout Gyarados's entire body, bathing the Water/Flying-type in golden yellow energy while causing it to convulse and release agonized cries.
"Roar!"
Sceptile's maximum-power strike directly inflicted severe damage upon Gyarados, transforming the already wounded Pokémon into a critically injured state.
"Such incredible might!"
"The Evolved Sceptile's strength is absolutely overwhelming; compared to its previous form, the difference is like night and day."
"Just one technique severely injured Gyarados. I still recall that at the beginning of this match, Jacob's Sceptile required two Swords Dance boosts to match Gyarados's single Dragon Dance enhancement."

Ariana gazed at her Pokémon with evident concern, her eyes reflecting complete shock. She hadn't anticipated that her Gyarados would prove no match for Jacob's transformed Sceptile.

Jacob's voice rang across the battlefield. He refused to grant Gyarados any opportunity to recover, decisively commanding Sceptile. Until the match officially concluded, there could be no relaxation of effort, especially considering the formidable power that Ariana's Gyarados still possessed.
"Gyarados, use Ice Fang!"
"Roar!"
Gyarados struggled valiantly, its fangs becoming coated in Ice-type energy as it launched a desperate attack toward Sceptile!
The confrontation between ice and lightning commenced. Sceptile, having barely expended any stamina, faced the heavily injured Gyarados while maintaining a complete advantage.
At this crucial moment, Sceptile completely dominated Gyarados, its lightning-infused fist striking the massive serpent's body with devastating effect.
"Roar!"
Gyarados released a pain-filled roar, completely unable to mount effective resistance, capable only of widening its eyes while enduring the overwhelming agony, refusing to lower its proud head in defeat.
Lightning flashed brilliantly across the battlefield.
Gyarados's massive form crashed to the ground with a tremendous impact, collapsing weakly upon the arena surface, having completely lost its ability to continue battling.
"Gyarados is unable to battle. Jacob emerges victorious in this match!" The referee's authoritative voice echoed throughout the stadium.
Jacob smiled with satisfaction. The victory hadn't come easily; he had utilized Mega Evolution twice and finally claimed this challenging match, earning the Champion's title!
"Congratulations to Jacob for capturing this year's High School Cup Frosthollow Province Championship!" Julio's voice suddenly burst forth with enthusiasm.
"Just moments ago, the director transmitted a message: the ability Jacob employed to Evolve his Pokémon is officially designated as Mega Evolution, and a comprehensive research paper has already been published in the Pokémon Science magazine.
