After speaking his final sentence, the tower leader still stood in silence.
His gaze passed over Daniel and settled again on Serys. A heavy silence filled the room; a silence that even the wind outside the window dared not break.
Serys still couldn't believe what she had heard was true.
"…Are you sure?" Her lips trembled slightly, and she said quietly, her voice laced with doubt.
This was beyond anything she had expected. She hadn't thought that even in the worst circumstances, this case would be given to her.
But why? Why had the tower leader suddenly decided to trust her?
Her gaze fell on Daniel. Was this also part of this man's plans? Or was it a complete coincidence? But she doubted anything related to this man could be a coincidence.
The tower leader said nothing.
