A few seconds passed as he looked between the two of them, and then he raised his eyebrow.
"Your expressions don't look like a family visit at all." Andreas said this as he put down his pen, but his weak joke couldn't hide the obvious curiosity in his gaze.
"We need access to the old archives." Daniel went straight to the point.
"Which section?"
"The duty reports of soul specialists and documents related to about twenty years ago." He explained in a simple tone, as if requesting access to one of the family's most restricted sections wasn't a big deal.
"What are you looking for?" Andreas took his gaze from him and fixed it on Selera.
Selera was silent for a few seconds. For a moment, the same resistance from before appeared on her face again, but this time she pushed it aside herself.
"My mother." Finally, she said in a quiet voice, keeping her gaze directly on her brother.
All the joking faded from his face.
