For a time, she had truly believed victory was within reach.

Her army was torn apart, some drowned, others simply… stopped, as though their souls had been severed from their bodies.
Isla clenched her fists, her jaw tightening. "This damn flood …"
She waited, enduring, gathering what remained of her forces on the highest ground.

Some zombies stood again, their movements steadier, their presence… different.
They were no longer affected by the water.
In fact, they controlled it.
Isla's eyes lit up, a dangerous gleam forming within them.
