"He was my prince," Sister Mary said, her voice carrying a quiet certainty.
"Yuuta is the prince of the Sylavirous Kingdom."
Sara's eyes widened immediately.
"The prince of the Sylavirous Kingdom... is human?"
For several seconds, genuine confusion covered her face. When Sister Mary had first called Yuuta my prince, Sara had assumed it was some kind of affectionate title, perhaps a metaphor showing how precious he was to her. The possibility that she had meant an actual royal title hadn't even crossed Sara's mind.
Sister Mary nodded.
"Yes. It's a long story, but Yuuta is a rightful prince of the Sylavirous Kingdom And when I call him my prince, I mean it personally as well. I was the one who raised him."
Sara stopped walking for a moment.
"Wait... are you serious right now?"
Sister Mary glanced back at her.
"Completely."
