Agnes cleared her throat and tried to argue, "Yes, Jeanette is considerate, but Zoey..."
"That's enough. Don't mention her name. I don't care what she did to trick you into taking this DNA test, but there's no way we're accepting her." Dorothy waved her hand and headed toward the ward.
"Wait, Mom," Gabriel said.
"What? Are you trying to stop me from seeing Jeanette? Don't make me punish you." Dorothy stared at Gabriel and shoved him away.
Gabriel stopped Agnes, who was about to follow Myles and Dorothy into the ward. "I'll go in with them, Darling. You wait out here."
"But..."
"Dad and Mom are mad. They might take it out on you if they heard Jeanette complaining."
"Go put in a good word for Zoey. Don't let Dad and Mom blame her."
Gabriel glanced at his wife wordlessly.
