"Enough, Isaac!" Zoey drew Stacey back and gave Isaac a stern look. "Don't piss me off. I don't want to scold you in front of my father's grave."
She couldn't promise that she'd be able to contain her rage if he kept messing around.
Isaac knew that he needed to respect her boundaries because Christopher was important to her.
So, softening his tone, he said with a smile, "Calm down, Zoey. How are you already upset when I didn't even say anything?"
"Shut up!" Zoey shushed him.
Isaac zipped his mouth and stood silently at the side.
Not knowing what to do, Estelle said apologetically, "Calm down, Mrs. Yancey. Isaac didn't mean any harm. Don't bother yourself with him. He tends to behave like a child sometimes."
Zoey simply cast her a glance and said patiently, "Ms. Levine, this has nothing to do with you."
"I know, but I don't want Isaac to be scolded. To me, he's just a boy who likes to fool around, so I have to protect him if I can."
