"Darling, don't look at it. I'll get the doctors to do a check-up for me when they arrive," Shawn refused.
Yvonne's expression shifted. She knew that Shawn's head injury must be quite serious if he didn't want her to look at it.
"Shawn, let me see or I'll get angry," she said with a straight face.
Shawn knew he could not win an argument with her, so he had no choice but to let her have a look.
When Yvonne saw the sloppy stitches that closed the 6- inch long wound on the back of Shawn's head, her heart ached, and she almost cried out.
For Shawn to survive under horrible medical conditions, he was either very lucky or had a strong will to live.
"Darling, when I was in a coma, I wasn't ignoring you on purpose, but my mind was really befuddled, so..."
Shawn leaned on Yvonne, explaining weakly, "The reason why I could stay awake for so long today was because I forced myself to get up when I heard your voice..."
Before he could finish, he passed out again.
