In the wide backyard of the castle, a simple horse-drawn carriage was already waiting under the faint red light of dawn.

This was a mid-to-low-class merchant carriage dark, weathered wood crusted with dirt, iron wheels slightly rusted in some places, and a faded canvas cover worn by years of wind and rain.
