Uchiha Madara suddenly burst out laughing.
Still laughing!
The laughter grated harshly on everyone's ears.
The Marines' faces turned pale, yet none of them dared to rush forward and fight Uchiha Madara to the death. It wasn't that they lacked courage—they all knew it would be pointless. To charge at him now would be nothing more than throwing their lives away.
If they really dared to act, their fates would be even worse than Akainu's. They would be killed in an instant.
Even Akainu couldn't withstand Susanoo. Did anyone truly expect them to create a miracle?
Uchiha Madara could probably slap them once and send them straight to the afterlife.
"Hahaha… ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous."
"See you later, Akainu."
After sneering those words, Uchiha Madara turned and walked away—leaving behind stunned Marine soldiers and the unconscious Akainu lying in defeat.
Akainu had lost.
He couldn't get up again.
If the world learned that the man considered the Marines' future Fleet Admiral had been crushed so easily by just a member of Kronos' crew, it would send shockwaves across the seas once again.
Kronos was already terrifying enough on his own. Now, even his subordinates were so fearsome that one of them could overwhelm an Admiral.
"They're too strong… the Kamui Pirates, they're madmen from head to toe!"
A Marine, trembling in fear, spoke these words with a shiver.
What they had just witnessed was like a sword hanging over their heads, leaving them in constant dread.
The fact that Uchiha Madara walked away without pressing the attack against the Marines was, in itself, shocking.
"We were already prepared for our last stand… but he just left."
Vice Admiral Burning Mountain (Huoshaoshan) exhaled deeply, then sighed helplessly:
"It seems he disdains us too much to even bother finishing us off."
The others fell silent, unsure what to say.
It should have been good news, but none of them could laugh. Instead, they only felt a deeper sadness.
They wanted to cry.
Why… why had things turned out like this?
"Could it be… that sooner or later, our Marines will be wiped out by Kronos' hands?"
Vice Admiral Onigumo muttered bleakly. Kronos was far too frightening, and no one knew where he had found so many monster-like warriors.
"The five of us together… we might not even be able to handle a single finger of Uchiha Madara."
Vice Admiral Doberman spoke grimly, his face just as dark as the others.
Meanwhile, on Hive Island…
News of Akainu's complete defeat and Uchiha Madara's overwhelming victory reached the Kamui Pirates, sparking thunderous applause.
"This time, that guy really stole the spotlight."
Senju Hashirama said in disbelief, his expression a mix of admiration and frustration.
Honestly, Hashirama also wanted to show off his strength before Kronos. Unfortunately, it had been Uchiha Madara who got chosen to face Akainu.
Of course, Hashirama didn't think he was weaker. With his power, defeating Akainu wouldn't have been a problem either. After all, in terms of strength, he was on par with Uchiha Madara.
