Reverse Vaan was tempted to stay and play for a bit. However, time was not on his side.

The man thought before urging his chariot to fly toward the east. Since the four people on the ground thought he would join them, they were surprised to see him leave without saying a word or a greeting.
"Isn't that… Vaan?" Lavinia frowned. "Did he not recognize us?"
"He did," Fran replied. "I saw him look at us with recognition."
"Maybe he needs to do something important?" Elaine commented. "Something that takes priority over talking to us?"
Cairo didn't say anything. He didn't like the way Vaan looked at his sister, Lavinia. It was the kind of look one would give a person they viewed as someone beneath them.
The malice behind that gaze was something he could discern from his location. Alex had introduced Vaan to him before, and he believed that he was a good judge of character. but, the man he saw wasn't the same person he saw back then.
