After the truck was unloaded, Chaoyang and the others drove away with the tractor. A group of people gathered around the pile of corn cobs and began to peel them.
Jiang Xinyu wasn't very adept at it at first and left the innermost layer of soft husk, which should be tied together so that the corn is easier to handle in bad weather.
The oldest ones sat there tying the corn, neatly arranging them in a circle with the tails facing inwards, placing a wooden stick in the center, then tying the husks together layer by layer. This way, they dry more easily, and at night, they can be covered with a straw mat.
As Jiang Xinyu was in her prime, she was responsible for transporting the corn using a basket.
