"Mr. Bennett doesn't need company. I've heard he only comes out once a year and doesn't like talking to people much. They say you have to align eye contact before he'll say a few words. If you can get a tip or two from him, following his direction will guarantee a dramatic change for the company next year," Christopher said proudly.
"Is he really that impressive? Better than my third brother?" Maya felt Christopher was exaggerating.
She thought, if this person is truly so impressive, why did he leave the scene so early? And he's still so young, why not continue making waves? Is he willing to hand over this great dominion to Liam?
"He's not pursuing those things now," Christopher explained.
"Then what is he pursuing?" Maya asked.
"You would have to ask him that—I don't know," Christopher admitted helplessly.
While chatting with Maya, Christopher temporarily forgot about Seven and Ian, at least making himself feel less uncomfortable than yesterday.
