Bang—bang—bang—!
Three gunshots rang out one after another, the noise piercingly loud.
Howard Saxton screamed in agony, his body falling straight back.
"Call an ambulance!!" Ariel Morris's hands trembled as she cradled Arlo Seys's body.
Not far away, Nicole shouted at the officers behind her, "Call an ambulance! Quickly!"
Warm blood flowed through her fingers, and Ariel Morris shook her head in terror, "No, Arlo... Arlo, we need to be okay. You said you wouldn't be harmed... Arlo Seys, don't break your promise, please?..."
Ariel Morris held Arlo Seys's body, her vision beginning to blur in front of her eyes. She instinctively grasped Arlo Seys's clothes tighter, her eyelashes fluttering lightly.
"Arlo—hold on, can you hold on? Hold on, and I'll tell you a secret."
Arlo Seys slightly curled his lips, his face pale, his thin lips parting lightly, "You—you say."
