Sophie Brown stood by the window, watching the night fall, her eyes slightly moist, "Dawn Sutherland, I have something I want to say to you."
"Go ahead, Mom." Dawn stood beside Sophie, feeling her suppressed sadness and the pain of missing Romeo Grant.
"I know you and Daisy are in a sham marriage. All this time you've been putting on a show in front of me." Sophie spoke softly.
Dawn's heart skipped a beat, his voice tense, "Mom, no, Daisy and I didn't..."
"Don't lie to me," Sophie turned to look at Dawn.
Dawn lowered his eyes slightly under Sophie's deep gaze, not daring to meet her eyes.
Sophie sighed, "Dawn, why did you marry Daisy?"
Dawn pressed his lips together, his fingers on both sides stiff, "I want to take care of her for a lifetime."
