In the overly humid and sweltering study, Emma Magus felt a slight chill sweep over her heart.
She instinctively looked at Robert Stephens.
Under the bright lights of the study, the warm smile at the man's lips blurred at that moment, as if peeling away the perfect facade of gentleness on his face.
Emma Magus didn't know why, but the innate fear she had of this man returned in those days, her throat dry, and she was a bit afraid that she might have said something wrong.
"Heh." After a moment of silence, the man finally laughed softly, breaking the stillness of the study. He lowered his lashes slightly, revealing a mild smile, his tone carrying a hint of elder exasperation toward the younger, "Edward... has indeed been a bit unruly lately."
He shook his head and said to Emma Magus, "About you being blacklisted by him, I'll help you deal with it. Consider it a favor in return for you telling me this."
Hearing him say this, Emma Magus immediately felt at ease.
