Adrian Walyon seemed busy; the phone rang several times before he answered.
The two usually used video for their calls, and after connecting, Summer Sutton glanced at his surroundings, "Are you at the hotel?"
"Yeah." Adrian Walyon looked at her up and down through the video, a slight smile playing at his lips, "Not asleep yet?"
Their conversation was just typical husband and wife chatter, and Adrian's questions were casual.
What he didn't expect was for Summer Sutton to say, "Adrian, I miss you and can't sleep much."
In the two years they've been married, she rarely expressed her emotions so directly.
Adrian Walyon was stunned for a few seconds, his gaze deepening as he looked at her.
"What did you just say?" He asked, taking a deep breath.
Summer Sutton lifted her face, looked at him through the screen, and repeated what she'd said, "I said, I can't sleep today, I've been thinking about you."
