Summer Sutton's long eyelashes lightly trembled, and at his words, she slowly opened her eyelids.
Their gazes collided, and her eyes seemed a bit dazed as she looked at him.
Seeing her like this made Adrian Walyon's heart tighten with pain. He didn't ask anything about the child and leaned down to hold her tightly.
"I'm late..." His arms encircled her with force, and Adrian's voice was slightly choked with emotion.
Summer's body stiffened slightly in his embrace, her hands searching his body until her fingertips touched his palm, feeling the coldness there, her heart clenched.
He must have been terribly frightened by what happened to her tonight, right?
"Adrian..." Summer's lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but before she could, he interrupted her, "It doesn't matter, as long as you're okay."
