"Ji..." The word didn't fully come out of Lou Xi's mouth. She was embarrassed to suddenly change and call Ji Nanming by name. "Why isn't he here?"
Lou Xi asked Shen Youran. She thought about how she had met Ji Nanming in the elevator earlier, and he hadn't mentioned having dinner together, which was odd.
Shen Youran knew Lou Xi was referring to Ji Nanming, and a touch of awkwardness rose in her heart.
She didn't know if Qin Mobai was aware of her previous attempt to pair up Lou Xi and Ji Nanming, but it was something she hadn't thought through, leading to a misunderstanding.
Luckily, Ji Nanming never agreed to her plan. If he had agreed, and then Qin Mobai turned out to be alive, Shen Youran wouldn't know how to deal with the situation.
"He said he had a social engagement tonight, so he won't be coming for dinner. Opening a new branch requires thorough planning, and he probably doesn't have much time to rest lately." Shen Youran replied evasively.
