The cold dishes quickly arrived, arranged in a circle along the glass tabletop.
Each dish looked like a piece of art, ready to be featured on a food show.
Mia Ginger pursed her lips, her appetite piqued.
The group of people in the department exchanged glances, and a middle-aged Doctor was the first to stand up and say, "Come, let's all toast to Dr. Jackson and Mia, wishing you a happy marriage and a blissful life."
"Happy newlyweds," the others chimed in with smiles.
"Thank you."
Koa Jackson and Mia Ginger each said, taking a sip of the half glass of red wine.
Mia wasn't much of a drinker, which Koa Jackson knew, but by the time he wanted to stop her, it was too late. The little girl drank as if it were water, gulping it down.
Koa Jackson pressed his fingers to his forehead, sat down, and handed her a glass of tea, whispering, "Have some tea first."
"Hmm." Mia took the tea, tilted her head back, and finished half the glass.
Everyone started eating.
