The other side said something quickly.
"I'll be right there," Louis Cox hung up the phone with a grim expression.
Mia Ginger snapped back to reality and quickly asked, "What happened?"
"Odin's run into some trouble." Louis held his temple with one hand, steadied himself, and said to her, "Let Maeve stay here first, you help me watch her for a while. I'm heading to the hospital now, Little Patten!"
Louis called out to Little Patten, who was playing with Maeve in the yard.
Mia looked at his face and knew it wasn't good. She nodded and said, "I'll watch Maeve, be careful driving."
"Mm." Louis suddenly took a step closer to her, reached up and roughly tousled her hair, his voice low, "Sorry to trouble you again."
"It's no trouble." Mia shook her head and raised her hand to grasp his arm briefly.
Louis gave her a deep look, then spun around and left with long strides.
Once outside, he quickly got into the car.
