MGSFV?! Chapter 506. This Better Be a Happy Ending!; It's All Elysia

Elysia didn't know how exactly things would unfold—after all, the part she knew was only a small piece of what lay ahead.

But...

Since Mei had already created an unprecedented miracle once in the Elysian Realm, then...

Elysia didn't voice the thoughts swirling in her heart.

She merely tapped gently and let the story continue.

Unlike the players, although Mei and the others could also hear the implications hidden in the words of the Anti-Entropy scientists, they didn't look particularly surprised.

Instead, they seemed prepared.

Especially Mei...

When she realized that executing Anti-Entropy's second-generation Moonlight Throne Plan meant pushing Kiana into a certain role—

Her expression remained unexpectedly calm.

In fact, she looked even more composed than when she vaguely guessed the truth earlier.

She simply looked at Kiana and asked, "Kiana, you've barely spoken—did you already know about this before the meeting?"

"..."

Kiana met Mei's gaze seriously and nodded.

"Yeah. But... this isn't something I can decide on my own."

"From my perspective..." she paused, "I want you, Mei, and everyone, to work together with me to create a tomorrow that can truly be called happy for each and every person."

"Yes..."

Tesla suddenly cut in at that moment.

"If, like we've all chosen to believe, the Herrscher of Origin really did leave behind a shortcut to overcome this predicament—"

"Then, Mei..."

She had only mentioned Mei's name, but it was clear the next words were meant for her specifically.

Or rather, you could just say they were.

"If everything goes well, we might actually reach a happy ending for everyone."

["Happy Ending"]

[It better be a happy ending!!]

[Heh… hearing that line just makes me laugh. Ever since miHoYo used "Honkai Impact 3rd is sweet" as an ad slogan, I knew they had no shame.]

[As a Captain who got baited in with "healthy, sunny, and positive" marketing, I want to see how much the ending lives up to that promise.]

Even though this part of the story was clearly meant to reassure Mei—and players outside the screen—

The players still chose to doubt, doubt again, and then doubt once more.

As for Mei...

She didn't respond to Tesla. Her gaze remained on Kiana, eyes locked.

She repeated the words Kiana had just said.

"Each and every person..."

[Does that "everyone" include Kiana herself?]

[If it was the old Buggy saying this, maybe not. But now... I think it does.]

Rather than guessing, it was better to ask directly.

"So, that includes you, and me?"

[...]*N

[Mei: My happiness is you...]

"..."

Kiana paused briefly, then smiled.

"Yeah. So, Mei, will you believe in me—and believe in yourself?"

[Saying "I believe" here... must be hard, right? What they're about to do is directly tied to the End. The odds...]

Put yourself in her shoes.

Faced with something so uncertain, not everyone could make that final decision as fearlessly and hopefully as Elysia—

"I don't know what will happen after I return to the Cocoon. But I believe that the humanity I love will create the future I never reached."

It might be considered baseless.

But miracles are born from that very baselessness.

If Elysia had fallen into despair even for a moment back then, perhaps the final fate of both the Previous and Current Eras would've turned out very differently.

[Mei... it's okay not to say anything right now...]

"Since that's how you feel..."

Mei responded in a way that caught some people off guard.

With firm conviction, she said, "Of course I want to try with you, after hearing all that."

That attitude—truly made one see a glimpse of Elysia in her.

...

With that, Mei and Kiana reached a consensus.

The three-part plan was nearly finalized.

There were some minor negotiations left, but those need not be detailed here.

Players used this short lull to settle their emotionally turbulent hearts.

An hour later—

The meeting concluded, and Theresa and Durandal rushed to Abyss City to rendezvous with Siegfried.

Naturally, Durandal became the lead commander on-site.

"...To be precise, our operation is a prerequisite for the other two."

"Depending on the progress of the other two, and the complexity of the Stigma Plan... we might enjoy a smooth victory, or face an endless war of attrition."

Although Durandal came to Abyss City mainly because only she could carry out the "Reclaim Earth" plan—

Assigning her to the foundational task really put everyone at ease.

"That's why we have separate teams for combat, shifts, and reserves," Siegfried said, glancing at Durandal.

Theresa added, "What, not happy about being on the shift team?"

Maybe that was exactly the case.

But Siegfried would never admit that in front of Theresa.

These two had been roasting each other forever.

So—

Without thinking, Siegfried shot back, "You, of all people, joining the combat team at your age—that's even more pitiful."

[Siegfried lol—still full of energy after being locked up for so long.]

[An old warhorse still dreams of a thousand-mile journey. Age only makes Theresa cuter (doge)]

["A Little Girl of a Certain Age"]

"Tch, I knew you'd have nothing nice to say."

Theresa rolled her eyes, then turned to Durandal. "Durandal, let's not stoop to this old man's level."

"Haha, I believe that's just Siegfried's sense of humor," Durandal replied.

[Huh? It feels like Theresa and Durandal are finally a bit closer now.]

[Seems like their earlier conversations at St. Freya really worked.]

[Though... why's Silly Goose still calling him 'Mr.'?]

[Probably still too shy to call him Dad—totally normal. Give her time.]

That's what the players thought.

But they probably didn't realize—that "time" would end up being much longer than they expected.

...

The domestic banter didn't last long.

Welt Yang, now acting as the temporary leader of both Anti-Entropy and Schicksal, contacted them—

And announced that the [Three-Phase Strategy] was officially launching.

"Everyone—begin the operation!"

"Yes!" *N

A CG scene slowly unfolded.

Durandal and Theresa, clad in Valkyrie battlesuits, charged toward the core zone. Other Schicksal Valkyries dispersed according to their strength levels.

Siegfried gripped his weapon, stationed at the rear, fully armed and ready to handle any unexpected crisis.

The atmosphere turned solemn in an instant.

[It's starting! It's starting!]

[Wait, the temporary commander is Welt?!]

[Old Yang's more experienced. Plus, Theresa has to fight on the frontlines—no time to sit and command.]

Theresa now bore the Kaslana Stigma Space, making her a key figure in the "Reclaim Earth" operation.

So she had to be on-site.

[I'm wondering… if the final battle against the End ends smoothly, will Old Yang stay as joint head of the two factions?]

[You're thinking too far ahead.]

[Just a hypothetical, okay?]

[I think he would—unless Welt has something else to do.]

Hmm...

Let's just say Old Yang does indeed have something else to do ( )

Anyway, let's focus on the main battlefield: Durandal and Theresa.

Far away at Schicksal HQ, Elizabeth McSmith used Thousand Realms One Ride to tear open a spatial rift for them in Abyss City.

As expected, that rift also brought some Imaginary Constructs with it—but with Durandal around, they weren't a threat.

Celestial of Genesis, trailblazer.

With a few swift moves, Durandal easily crushed the incoming Constructs.

However...

Surprises always come when you least expect them.

Just as they cleared the first wave, without a moment to rest, a second wave burst out of the rift.

Wave after wave—it was as if the Imaginary Constructs within were infinite.

"These enemies... they're pouring in nonstop," Theresa narrowed her eyes.

Durandal's breathing remained steady. Even with the number of Constructs increasing, her movements were clean and composed—as if she alone could handle it all.

"After all, what we're doing is essentially 'bleeding' the Stigma Plan."

[Bleeding? Now look at Durandal's metaphor—compared to what you all said earlier... Stealing electricity? Is that even a normal thought process?! (angry)]

[Blame Miss Fairy for that one ( )]

...

Amidst the players' laughter—

Elysia, controlling Durandal, smashed wave after wave of Constructs—and even took down the Imaginary Divine Remnants that showed up alongside them.

They all got GG'd.

So-called "infinite enemies" was just an illusion.

They simply weren't strong enough before.

And so...

In reality, Durandal achieved a sweeping victory against the tidal onslaught—

Demonstrating her overwhelming strength in a high-energy world, holding the battlefield alone and granting Abyss City a brief moment of peace.

The two Valkyries who would lay the foundation for Earth's reclamation were already prepared.

"Not long ago, I tried using Black Abyss White Flower to guide the Shaniat Stigma's power against obstacles created by the Stigma Space—"

"But maybe because today's Stigma Plan was also created by a Shaniat..."

"...From actual results, this method works even better than using Thousand Realms One Ride directly."

[Wait? Did Durandal just say she knows that Yatu is the personified Shaniat Stigma? And if she knows, doesn't that mean basically everyone does?!]

[When did Silly Goose find out? I totally missed that.]

[My guess—it was probably Duck who told her? Duck read Yatu's memories before, right? Even though she didn't see the most important one with Duck Mom and Mistelin, she should know Yatu's tied to the Shaniats.]

[Still... Durandal seems a lot calmer about it than I expected.]

Yatu does look exactly like Cecilia, after all.

[Well, Durandal must understand that Yatu and Cecilia aren't the same person. Even if she wanted to say something, she'd wait to do it in person—no point bringing it up with Theresa.]

[Yeah, makes sense.]

...

In any case—

With a better solution at hand, Durandal and Theresa didn't need to overcomplicate things.

Durandal raised Black Abyss White Flower and plunged it into the spatial rift.

"With the power of Genesis, I shall act as the sacred sword... manipulating the world and anchoring it to you—the inheritor of the Kaslana Space."

Hearing this, Theresa stepped forward resolutely and joined hands with Durandal on the spear.

"Black Abyss White Flower, please act as the key—and guide us to the true power of Stigma."

Theresa: "I am the black that journeys into hell."

Durandal: "I am the white that descends from heaven."

Theresa: "Born before creation—"

Durandal: "—Existing after annihilation."

Theresa & Durandal:

"We shall overturn heaven and earth, and return order to the world."

"Key of Creation, Black Abyss White Flower—Second Rated Power Output: Spear of Reversal, Limit Release!"

[Even though I know this is just the activation chant, it still feels so chunibyo.]

Thanks to that bit about Joyce's "Fortune" in the last update—

A lot of players who hadn't read the Anti-Entropy novel got curious and started reading it.

Then...

They got stabbed in the heart.

Some even thought Otto died too early—wanted to revive him just to beat him again.

So no one found it strange that Durandal and Theresa recited this chant now.

[The first wielder of Black Abyss White Flower was Kosma. Chunibyo lines? Totally normal.]

[Wrong! The first wielder was clearly Elysia.]

[Elysia probably changed the activation lines on purpose before giving it to Kosma—just to see him say it out loud.]

[...Definitely something Elysia would do ( )]

While some players wondered about the spear's over-the-top chant—

Other comments floated across the screen.

[Kosma says: Cool. (Griseo: Star-Painting Kosma.jpg)]

[I did not.]

[Kosma, lying isn't good.]
